Today’s fun is making Plantain Salve or First Aid Salve. I made it with broadleaf Plantain dried then infused for 6 weeks in organic olive oil. Once oil is infused I then melt organic beeswax pellets in the infused oil and add vitamin E for extra benefits and preservation. Selling for $10 for a 1oz tin.

Uses and benefits:
Plantain is a wonderful herb for many skin ailments. Bug bites and stings, rashes, and even skin infections can be eased by this humble plant! It offers many beneficial actions.

Astringent: it helps tone and tighten the skin so wounds heal better.
Anti-inflammatory: plantain calms redness and irritation so wounds and injuries are less painful and uncomfortable.
Anti-microbial: it helps prevent the overgrowth of harmful microbes in skin injuries.
Drawing: similar to its astringent action, plantain can help draw toxins (like insect venom) out of the skin.
Vulnerary: plantain helps the skin to heal faster.

For sale $15 per jar
10 pints of Fire Cider back sweetened with a 1/4 cup local raw honey. You can add more honey to your liking.

Dosage: For daily immune maintenance, the typical adult dosage of fire cider is 1 to 2 tablespoons (15 to 30 mL) per day. If you feel a cold or the sniffles coming on, this can be increased to 1 to 2 tablespoons every 3 to 6 hours to provide acute immune support

Ingredients: organic apple cider vinegar with mother, oranges, lemons, blueberries, red onion, jalapeño, Ceylon cinnamon, cloves, fresh oregano, thyme, rosemary, black peppercorns, turmeric root, ginger root and garlic.

Process: All that is chopped up and apple cider vinegar is poured over it all. Sits a minimum of 6-8 weeks. Then it’s strained and bottled. I add 1/4 cup raw unfiltered local honey to mine to give some sweetness.

Uses: Helps prevent colds and flu but if you happen to get sick it knocks it out pretty quick.
