Spent the last few days at the Annual International Conference - listening, learning, and reflecting on how much medicine continues to evolve.
I continue to appreciate how interconnected the body truly is — inflammation, metabolism, nervous system regulation, movement, hormones, environmental exposures, recovery. Patients rarely fit into one simple box.
As someone with a background in PM&R and pain medicine, I’m always interested in the intersection between structural medicine, functional medicine, and the nervous system.
Grateful for the opportunity to learn from clinicians and educators including , , and and so, so many others

Sometimes the hardest part of improving your health is not lack of effort. It’s trying to keep up with too many things at once.

More supplements. More protocols. More information.

And after a while, it becomes hard to tell what’s actually helping.

Sometimes clarity comes from simplifying, not adding more.

Thyroid issues don’t always show up the way people expect.
sometimes it’s obvious hypothyroid but other times people have “normal”labs but they’re still dealing with fatigue, muscle stiffness, joint pain, brain fog, and feel like their body isn’t functioning the way it should be. one reason is the standard thyroid screening only looks at TSH, but the thyroid function is more complex than the single number. Sometimes the body may be producing hormones, but the signals at the cellular level isn’t working efficiently.
sometimes ongoing inflammation
, stress, nutrient efficiencies, or other internal imbalances may be affecting how the body response. This is why looking at the picture a picture matters.

Seasonal allergies may involve more than pollen alone. histamine levels can be influenced by cut health, information, stress, recovery, and certain foods, including leftovers, fermented foods, alcohol, and processed foods. Some people may also benefit from Support such as quercetin during high histamine periods.

For many people, chronic pain and inflammation can be influenced by more than just muscles or joints alone.

Things like:
• gut health
• stress and nervous system overload
• sleep and recovery
• immune activation
• hormones and metabolism
• environmental exposures
• movement patterns and biomechanics

can all play a role in how the body heals, adapts, and responds.

Sometimes perspective does not come from solving the problem immediately.

Sometimes it comes from slowing down long enough to notice the sky, the trees, the quiet moments around us, and remembering that we are part of something much bigger.

It does not erase the stress or responsibilities of life.
But it reminds me not to let temporary struggles become my entire world.

Yesterday was Mother’s Day, and it had me reflecting on something that applies far beyond motherhood.

No matter who we are, we all started with someone who cared for us before we could care for ourselves.

Over time, many of us become very good at caring for others while forgetting how to extend that same patience and compassion toward ourselves.

I think healing often starts there too. Not all at once, but gradually through support, consistency, self awareness, and learning to care for ourselves in a more sustainable way.
