Happy Pride Month. 🌈
When people ask me what Pride means, my answer is simple: Pride is belonging.
It’s the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, respected, and welcomed exactly as they are.
Let’s Remember Why We Celebrate.
Especially in moments when conversations around our community can feel difficult or divisive, that belief matters even more. Pride reminds us that inclusion is not conditional. It is a commitment to treating people with dignity, extending grace, and creating spaces where everyone has the opportunity to belong.
That belief has shaped many of the decisions I’ve made throughout my life.
It’s why I built my fitness classes around inclusion and community. It’s why I helped establish an LGBTQ+ employee resource group at work to create connection and support. It’s why I chose to serve on a commission, because representation matters and everyone deserves a seat at the table when decisions are being made.
None of these things were about recognition. They were about creating spaces where people feel like they belong, and using my platform to give voices to those who are underrepresented.
While Pride Month is a celebration of how far we’ve come, it is also a reminder that progress requires participation. Inclusive communities don’t happen by accident. They are built by people willing to speak up, show up, listen, learn, and make room for others.
My hope is that each of us finds our own way to do that, whether through leadership, service, advocacy, or simple acts of kindness and acceptance.
The legacy we leave behind is not measured by what we achieve for ourselves, but by how many people feel welcomed because we were here.
Happy Pride Month. Let’s continue building communities where everyone belongs. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
