Happy Pride Month. 🌈

When people ask me what Pride means, my answer is simple: Pride is belonging.

It’s the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, respected, and welcomed exactly as they are.

Let’s Remember Why We Celebrate.

Especially in moments when conversations around our community can feel difficult or divisive, that belief matters even more. Pride reminds us that inclusion is not conditional. It is a commitment to treating people with dignity, extending grace, and creating spaces where everyone has the opportunity to belong.

That belief has shaped many of the decisions I’ve made throughout my life.

It’s why I built my fitness classes around inclusion and community. It’s why I helped establish an LGBTQ+ employee resource group at work to create connection and support. It’s why I chose to serve on a commission, because representation matters and everyone deserves a seat at the table when decisions are being made.

None of these things were about recognition. They were about creating spaces where people feel like they belong, and using my platform to give voices to those who are underrepresented.

While Pride Month is a celebration of how far we’ve come, it is also a reminder that progress requires participation. Inclusive communities don’t happen by accident. They are built by people willing to speak up, show up, listen, learn, and make room for others.

My hope is that each of us finds our own way to do that, whether through leadership, service, advocacy, or simple acts of kindness and acceptance.

The legacy we leave behind is not measured by what we achieve for ourselves, but by how many people feel welcomed because we were here.

Happy Pride Month. Let’s continue building communities where everyone belongs. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

🌳 What a beautiful morning at Ruth Hardy Park! Palm Springs showed up and showed OUT for the Let’s Plant & Play event celebrating Earth Day & Arbor Day. Trees were planted, games were played, music filled the air, and the community came together in the best way. As Vice Chair of the Parks & Rec Commission, days like this remind me exactly why I love serving this city. Here’s to many more! 🌱☀️

Today marks 10 years since a life changing moment in my life.

Ten years ago, Dr. Anne L. Coleman at UCLA Stein Eye Institute performed trabeculectomy surgery on both of my eyes due to glaucoma.

At the time, I was rapidly losing vision in my left eye. It was a scary and uncertain period in my life. I was living in Los Angeles, facing the very real possibility of permanent vision loss, and unsure what the future would look like.

Thanks to Dr. Coleman’s expertise, care, and decisive action, we were able to stop the damage from progressing and protect the nerves in my other eye.

Since then, I have returned every year for checkups to make sure the procedure continues to hold and that the glaucoma remains stable. Each visit is a reminder of how grateful I am and how fortunate I’ve been.

Today, 10 years later, I am doing great. My surgery was a success, and I continue to be incredibly grateful for the role she played in preserving my vision and changing my life.

Moments like this remind me not to take anything for granted. Being able to see, move, teach, connect, and experience life fully is something I carry with deep appreciation every single day.

Thank you, Dr. Coleman, for your care, your expertise, and for helping me keep my vision and my future. 💙

Grateful beyond words. 🙏✨

Stopped by Trans Pride at Demuth Community Center this afternoon.

Even in a short visit, it was meaningful to see the community gathered, organizations showing up, and spaces being created where people feel supported and affirmed.

Grateful to connect with friends at the LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert and to see the continued work happening right here in Palm Springs.

These moments matter. Visibility matters. Community matters.

Today I had the privilege of attending the Brothers of the Desert Wellness Summit here in Palm Springs.

The theme, Building Our Collective Resilience, felt especially meaningful. A full day of thoughtful conversations, powerful keynotes, and deeply intentional sessions centered on the Black LGBTQ+ experience, community healing, and the importance of wellness in all forms.

One of the sessions that stayed with me most was Palm Springs is Burning. The conversation around Black LGBTQ+ ballroom culture, expression, and resilience reminded me how movement, identity, and community have always been intertwined.

What I continue to appreciate about gatherings like this is the reminder that wellness is not just physical. It is emotional. Cultural. Historical. Communal.

Spaces like this create connection.
They create understanding.
They create belonging.

I left feeling inspired, grounded, and grateful to be part of a community that continues to grow, support one another, and lead with intention.

Inspired. Motivated. Loved.

This is Marty. 85 years young ❤️

He’s been part of what I’ve built since we began in 2022. A steady presence in the room, and someone who helped shape the energy of that space in his own way. He is also a great supporter of mine.

What stands out most is how he lives his life. Staying active, engaged, and continuing to show up in so many ways. It’s the kind of example I carry with me.

Today was his last day in class. I’ll miss having him around, but hope we see each other again soon!! Good luck Marty!❤️

Pool party kind of day ☀️

Closed out Red Dress Party weekend at Palm Springs Surf Club surrounded by community, connection, and a lot of joy.

Moments like this are a reminder of how important it is to create spaces where people feel free to be themselves.

That energy stays with me.
