🫶 Welcome to the “why is getting good healthcare so complicated?” support group. 🫶
Imagine a giant insurance company calling a provider’s office multiple times, asking if we are accepting new patients and how fast we can get them on the schedule—because local wait times everywhere else are as much as 3 to 6 months out or longer.
Meanwhile, over here at Four Pillars Healthcare, we have new patient appointments available within a week and sick visits open every single day because we believe in radical concepts like "seeing people when they are actually sick." 🩺
Imagine our office staff explicitly telling them, "We are still waiting on our contract to finish loading," only for the insurance representatives on the calls insisting, “Well, on our side, my screen says you are 100% in-network, so when can you see them?”
✅ We double-checked their network fee structure and quoted our patients exactly what the insurance system told us to expect: most being $0 copays and zero deductibles.✅
Imagine patients arriving for care at our office, proudly showing screenshots of their insurance portals listing the provider as in-network with the correct contact information, while the provider’s own portal explicitly states: “Credentialing Complete - Not Required” with the health plan status officially marked as “Contract Loading estimated date in mid-April.”🔄
Imagine our small independent practice (which we absolutely love) stepping up to welcome these individuals, working around the clock to ensure they finally get the dedicated, high-quality care they need and deserve. 👩⚕️
We proudly established a multitude of new patients this month because people needed medical care now, not next season.⌛️
Now imagine that same giant denying every single claim after the fact, shrugging, and calling it a "system directory error." ⛔️
Their solution? "Just charge the patients out-of-network fees, or don't get paid. Try again in 6 months if the Florida Market is open."😖
🚨Spoiler alert: We chose Option C. We are fighting back.🚨
⚖️ ⚕️As a practice founded literally on the Four Pillars of Medical Ethics, this hits us where it hurts. Our namesakes are Beneficence (acting in the patient's absolute best interest) and Justice (ensuring fair, honest, and equitable access to care). ⚕️ ⚖️
Pulling a corporate bait-and-switch like this forces independent clinics into a terrible corner: it threatens to make us look like we violated our own ethical foundations and misled the families who trusted us. 🔀
But we refuse to let corporate administrative chaos break our promise to you. 🫵
At Four Pillars Healthcare, we refuse to treat patients like collateral damage for a multi-billion-dollar "glitch."
While we spend our weeks playing David vs. Goliath with corporate bureaucracy to get these directory "errors" corrected and claims paid, our mission remains unchanged:
🥊 Showing up for our patients—even when the system fails them
🪨Providing care centered around PEOPLE, not corporate paperwork
🥊 Advocating fiercely behind the scenes against "ghost directories"
🪨 Refusing to pass the bill for a giant's mistake onto you
🪄Healthcare should be about medicine, not corporate magic tricks where coverage vanishes into thin air. 🪄
To our new families: we’ve got your back, and we aren't backing down. 🥊
