Representation matters. ❤️

When I was asked to do DWTS in 2014, as a double leg amputee, I had no idea what was possible. Seeing someone like me on TV showing the possibilities was rare.

Ezra watched me on the show and now here we are… I’m sitting in the ballroom watching HIM. 🥺

That’s the power of representation.
Sometimes seeing someone else do something doesn’t just inspire you it expands what you believe is possible for your own life.

And now Ezra gets to do that for someone else. ❤️

Full circle. ❤️🪩💃🏼🕺

Vegas was a win for our Alabama team! 🎰✨

Members of the So Every BODY Can Move Alabama team had an incredible week at the AOPA National Assembly connecting with the O&P community, learning from leaders across the profession, and sharing our passion for expanding access to life-changing prosthetic and orthotic care.

We are heading home inspired, energized, and ready to keep the momentum moving in Alabama! 🦾🧡

Alabama has an opportunity to become a leader in ensuring that people with limb loss, limb difference, mobility disabilities, and other disabilities have access to the prosthetic, orthotic, and complex rehab technology they need to participate fully in their communities.

🦾We have built the grassroots coalition.
🦿Now we need to fund the legislative expertise necessary to turn that movement into law.

🎥 Your story has the power to inspire change.

We’re looking for volunteers from across Alabama to be featured in a short documentary about the So Every BODY Can Move movement.

Whether you’re an individual with limb loss or limb difference, a caregiver, clinician, advocate, or someone whose life has been impacted by access to prosthetic or orthotic care—we want to hear your story.

✨ We’ll come to you.
🎥 A relaxed interview with a small camera crew.
💙 An opportunity to help put real faces and real stories behind this movement.

Together, we can show why equitable access to prosthetic and orthotic care matters—and why every Alabamian deserves the freedom to move.

📩 Interested? Send us a DM to learn more!

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post with anyone who may be interested.

🚶‍♀️28 minutes. 28 days. One movement.🦿

The 28x28 Mobility Challenge is here!

We’re challenging YOU to move 28 minutes a day for the next 28 days while helping raise awareness for a cause that impacts millions.

For too long, activity-specific prosthetic and orthotic care has been denied as “not medically necessary,” preventing people with disabilities from accessing the equipment they need to live active, healthy lives.

Together, we can help change that.

✅ Move 28 minutes each day.
✅ Share your journey.
✅ Invite others to join.
✅ Support the movement.

Because movement is a human right, and every step, stride, roll, and mile brings us closer to making that a reality.

💜 Join Team Alabama and let’s move together!

For years, prosthetic legs have relied on sensors and automation rather than direct user input. But a new proof-of-concept study showed that researchers were able to decode movement intentions directly from the nerves of people with above-knee limb loss, even down to attempts to move the toes.

While still in its early stages, this finding suggests a future where prosthetic legs could respond to the brain's own commands and even return sensation through the same implant.
