Yesterday was another beautiful opportunity to share my book, Under the Olive Skies, and to bring light to the stories and people of Gaza.
Thank you to the National Arab American Medical Association - Houston Chapter
for creating a space where meaningful conversations could happen. I was grateful to connect with so many compassionate, big-hearted people who continue to care deeply and support causes that bring hope and humanitarian support to Gaza.
We will never forget the people whose stories deserve to be heard. We will continue to speak, share, educate, and bring awareness—not as strangers, but as one humanity, standing together with compassion and hope.

Watching American Doctor for the second time, this time bringing more friends with me.
I didn’t expect it to hit me this deeply again. Watching the images, I felt transported back—the faces, the voices, the hands I held, the people we cared for. I could almost feel their touch again. My heart ached with the longing to return, to sit beside them, hold their hands, look into their eyes, and tell them, “You are not forgotten.”

This film transported us back to Nasser Hospital, bringing memories of the medical staff we worked alongside and the heartbreaking realities we witnessed—families waiting for news, and babies and civilians lost in the bombings.

It was deeply moving to see familiar faces and the story of the Turkish doctor and Palestinian operating-room nurse whose journey I shared in Under the Olive Skies. They reached Turkey safely and recently welcomed their first baby—a powerful reminder that love and hope endure.

Thank you, Feroze Sidhwa for sharing your powerful story through this documentary. Although we never spoke in Gaza, we were definitely there at the same place and time. I remember seeing you in the physician lounge, where we would all go for a few moments to breathe, gather ourselves, and reflect before heading back to our patients. Those moments are etched in our hearts forever.

I hope that through your documentary and my book, we can keep these stories alive and remembered, and continue bringing awareness to a world that has been blind to so much of what has happened. May our voices help others see, understand, and never forget. ❤️
