14 varieties of dahlias this year. These are probably my favorite flower to grow. It just amazes me that something so unique and beautiful comes from this ugly potato looking thing. I also started some from seed so we shall see how that plays out. These babies go into the ground tomorrow.

This sunken perennial bed next to my driveway was previously filled with day lilies, lily of the valley, Siberian iris, and lots of grass. Now I'll fill it with cutting flowers 😁

Uncovering dahlia tubers that I saved from last year. They come out of the ground in clumps, so you divide them, store them in pine shavings in a cool but somewhat humid spot, and hope for the best. The fist pic is of the tubers that made it and have sprouted already. Second is of tubers that may or may not have made it as they have not yet sprouted. Last is of the ones that sadly, did not make it. I'm pretty happy with what I know have made it. It will at least triple the number of dahlias I had last year and I didn't pay a thing for them! ☺️
