You’ve probably heard of ozone in the atmosphere—but what does ozone have to do with dentistry?

Quite a bit. 🌿

Ozone is a highly reactive form of oxygen, and in dentistry it can be used in carefully controlled applications to help reduce bacteria and other microorganisms in the treatment area.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, ozone is one of the tools Dr. Campus can incorporate into periodontal care when appropriate.

Why?

Periodontal disease isn’t simply about removing plaque from the surface of your teeth. It involves an unhealthy bacterial environment and inflammation within the tissues supporting your teeth.

Along with thorough periodontal treatment, ozone gives us another way to address that environment while taking a biologic approach to care.

It doesn't replace proper periodontal treatment—and it isn't a magic cure. Instead, it's another tool we can use as part of an individualized plan designed to support healthier gums and a healthier mouth.

Because biologic dentistry isn't about doing something “alternative” just for the sake of being different.

It's about thoughtfully choosing the materials, technology, and treatment options that make sense for the individual patient.

And sometimes, that includes O₃. 🦷🌿

Bleeding gums may seem like a problem that begins and ends in your mouth—but periodontal health is part of a much bigger picture.

Periodontal disease involves chronic inflammation and harmful bacteria around the teeth and gums. And because your mouth is connected to the rest of your body through your bloodstream, immune system, and inflammatory pathways, we don't view gum health as “just a dental issue.”

This is one of the reasons periodontal health is such an important part of biologic dentistry at Biodental Health & Longevity.

We want to understand the environment in your mouth, identify signs of inflammation and disease, and create a treatment plan designed to improve oral health while considering the whole person.

Depending on the patient, that may include advanced periodontal care, Guided Biofilm Therapy, saliva testing with OralDNA, ozone, and personalized recommendations for maintaining a healthier oral environment at home.

And here's something worth remembering:

Healthy gums shouldn't routinely bleed.

Bleeding, swelling, tenderness, persistent bad breath, gum recession, or changes around your teeth are all good reasons to have your periodontal health evaluated.

Your gums aren't separate from your health.

They're part of it. 🌿

What makes biologic dentistry different?

It starts with asking a bigger question.

Instead of only asking, “How do we fix this tooth?” we also want to understand what may be happening around it—and how the treatment we choose fits into the health of the whole person.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, that can mean considering the materials used in dental work, evaluating potential sources of infection and inflammation, paying close attention to periodontal health, and looking at factors that may influence the body’s ability to heal.

It also means recognizing that there may be more than one way to approach a dental problem.

Dr. Campus incorporates options such as metal-free restorations, zirconia dental implants, advanced digital diagnostics, ozone in periodontal care, and supportive wellness modalities when appropriate for the individual patient.

Because your teeth aren't separate from your gums.

Your gums aren't separate from your immune system.

And your mouth isn't separate from the rest of your body.

That bigger-picture approach is at the heart of biologic dentistry. 🌿

Your dental work doesn’t just disappear once you leave the chair.

Fillings, crowns, implants, bridges, and other restorations can remain in your mouth for many years—which is one reason the materials we choose matter.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, Dr. Campus takes a biologic approach to dentistry that considers not only how a restoration looks and functions, but also the materials being introduced into the mouth.

Whenever possible, we prioritize metal-free, biocompatible options and carefully consider each patient’s individual needs when creating a treatment plan.

One example is our use of zirconia dental implants. Zirconia provides a metal-free option for replacing missing teeth while offering the strength, function, and beautiful aesthetics patients expect from modern dentistry.

Because when something may become a long-term part of your smile, we believe it deserves thoughtful consideration.

It’s not just about fixing a tooth.

It’s about choosing dentistry with the whole person in mind. 🌿

What does biologic dentistry actually look like in practice?

For Dr. Campus, it means considering not only how dental treatment functions and looks—but also how the materials and procedures we choose interact with the body.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, that philosophy influences many areas of care.

We prioritize metal-free dentistry whenever possible, including highly aesthetic, Swiss-engineered zirconia implants chosen for their biocompatibility.

We also take a different approach to root canal-treated teeth. When appropriate for the individual patient, Dr. Campus discusses alternatives such as removing a compromised tooth and replacing it with a zirconia implant rather than automatically pursuing or maintaining root canal treatment.

And biologic dentistry doesn't stop with the teeth.

Periodontal health is an important part of the whole-body picture. Our approach to gum disease can incorporate advanced therapies such as ozone alongside individualized periodontal treatment to help address the oral environment and support healthier tissues.

Materials matter.
Gum health matters.
The way we treat infection matters.
And the health of the person attached to the tooth matters.

That's what biologic dentistry means to us.

What if part of your recovery plan could come from your own body?

Platelet-Rich Fibrin, or PRF, is created from a small sample of your own blood. It's concentrated to create a fibrin-rich material containing platelets and other components involved in the body's natural healing response.

In certain dental procedures, PRF can be placed directly at the treatment site to support:

🩸 Natural tissue healing
🦴 Bone and soft tissue regeneration
🌿 The body's normal recovery process
🦷 Healing following procedures such as extractions and implant treatment

It's one more way we can think beyond simply completing the procedure and consider what happens afterward.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, treatment is personalized to each patient, and PRF is used when Dr. Campus determines it can be beneficial as part of that individual's care plan.

All week we've talked about one central idea: your mouth doesn't heal separately from your body.

PRF is a pretty incredible example of that connection.

Exceptional care is about more than the treatment itself.

It's about feeling heard, understanding your options, knowing why something is being recommended, and having a team that considers your health throughout the entire process.

That's the experience we work to create at Biodental Health & Longevity.

Our approach brings together advanced dentistry, whole-body health, personalized treatment planning, and supportive wellness therapies when appropriate—all with one goal: providing care that considers the person, not just the procedure.

We're incredibly grateful when our patients take the time to share their experiences with us. Your trust means more to our team than you know. 🌿

Healing takes energy—and your cells are at the center of the process. ❤️

Red Light Therapy, also known as photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light that interact with cells and may help support normal cellular function and tissue recovery.

At Biodental Health & Longevity, Red Light Therapy is one of the wellness modalities we can incorporate as part of a broader approach to health and recovery.

Potential benefits may include:

✨ Supporting healthy circulation
✨ Supporting the body’s natural inflammatory response
✨ Promoting cellular energy production
✨ Supporting tissue repair and recovery
✨ Helping with post-treatment comfort

It’s another example of why we look beyond the dental chair.

When appropriate, supporting the body can be an important part of supporting the mouth—and our goal is to consider both.

Mouth. Mind. Body.
