Sorry for the long break. Daniel is in a deep sleep now as his body is shutting down. He has not eaten in 25 days. He drinks about 20 ounces a day.
We have discovered that the tumor has made his body able to survive on as little as 3 to 9 breaths per minute for the last month. Most of our nurses have had a difficult time determining how he is living. One he is the youngest patient some have had, two he has a will like no other and three he is Daniel.
So now we are just waiting for Daniel to be ready to let go of his dying body so his energy can be released home. He will find more love and a wholeness he lost over a year ago, to be returned to his physical and mental state. We do not want to lose him in this physical world but we will love him so spiritually.
Of course this is scary. We get it!

Saturday October 10th and we survived the hurricane. I must say we stayed on the porch with the plastic over the screens and our little anchers it held well but it got scary. We moved in around 630 when the neighbors huge tree began to come apart and we lost power. Just in time the top of it tore off and landed in our back yard. By 830 our fence was down. By 900 we had Daniel in his bed with a couple dogs, cats, and me.

Daniel loves an adventure boy that was something. We still will not have power for a while and we will put the fence up so the dogs can go out then I will see if Daniel wants to return to the porch. It is very loud with our little generator. But the temperatures are perfect!!! So many blessings!

Stay safe, sending love and prayers out to everyone in this storms path. It has caused a lot of damage.

God is good we are safe. I pray all of you are as well.

Well we are in October who thought? No one! Daniel has always walked to the beat of his own drummer!
He is sleeping about 7 hours then waking for 30 minutes to an hour. He is in more pain. He has a broken tooth, the abscess, pressure wounds on his spine, and of course bed sores. He does nothing simple my son. And yet he does not complain I can tell when tears are falling from his eyes.
He is such a blessing and a wonderful son. Far from perfect thank you God!!! - I would not have learned a single thing in this lifetime from a perfect child. His father, step-dad, and I required imperfect and flawed children. I must say we are still learning. But Daniel's lessons for are winding down. Although losing him will take years to process. We thank God daily for each and every moment we have. So when his time comes to exit this train we are riding I will let you know.

For now he is resting peacefully while the rain is coming down. We are enjoying the ride together.
❤️ Thank you for your support, prayers, love, and kindness! ❤️

It has been another week. I would love to report that it was a great week but....

It was a wonderful week because Daniel is still here and fighting but it was rough because he is suffering terminal agitation. I will say Emerald Coast Hospice nurses and doctors are so caring and right there for Daniel and for our entire family! I am so thankful for their support. When they say we are here 24/7 they mean it.
Some days are better than others and this is to be expected. We will take this day to day. We are thankful for each moment we share.

Happy Saturday!
Daniel has made it to his goal day! The Blackhawks🏒 preseason game is tonight and Daniel is super excited to watch it with his daughter and brother. He woke up little bits yesterday (Friday) to talk to his sister and absolute favorite person ever, his brother-in-law (their inside joke).
He is still not eating and only drinking very small amounts of fluid. His perk up seems very likely to be a rally before the end.
❤️‍🩹We ask that starting tomorrow Sunday, September 20th, that everyone gives the immediate family (Julie, Jameson, Kyla, Donald, Sara, and Tim) space to be with Daniel quietly. We understand that everyone wants to see and be with Daniel but we are moving into his transition time. We do not mean to hurt feelings but this as been an exhausting and emotional time for us as a family and we need time with one another and Daniel that is quiet and calm❣️

💫If a miracle should happen and he becomes lucid and seems to be hanging on, we will update and allow visitors.
🥰We appreciate the love and support that has been shown to Daniel and our family through this difficult time.

Thank you for helping us turn on the light for Daniel.

Today is Friday the 18th. One week ago if you asked I would have said Daniel would not be here because he had not eaten, had fluids, or urinated. Now saying this everyone has prayed for the 19th, the Blackhawks, and Saturday.
The next day. (Saturday)By faith he ate, drank, urinated, and made a promise to his daughter to do his best to make it to the first Hockey game and of course to his sister to beat her team this year!!! 😃
Well he has been really working hard everyday this week to try to drink and nibble on food but, yesterday the dive into deep sleep and slow respirations began. When aroused I asked if he will make it to the game his word is "try".
Daniel has been the warrior! As our nurse stated he has fought so hard for his family and friends. He has had so many uplifting prayers that has given him the strength and resolve to hang on.
His body (avitar) is weak. Yet his soul is strong. He has our permission and love to move on when the time comes. This body is holding his energy down and he so deserves to move free in love and peace.
So now whatever time we have left together we shall cherish. Today, tomorrow, for a life time!!
We are still hoping to make it through the game-he said he will try.
So here is to one more night! Thank you to all who are following. You all know Daniel, he does things his way!! From our family thank you for the kindness, love, friendship, and prayers!!!

Tuesday has come and gone. Well yesterday the lump under his arm we thought was a swollen gland was not it was in fact another abscess. It had a line of them going to his spine. He has been on antibiotics since July 3 for the other one. Unfortunately steroids can cause the body to get these. So he is on doxicycoline and augmentin 2 heavy hitters. Which is bad when you are not eating and your intestines are shut down.

Needless to say bad tummy. Hot compresses helped release a lot of puss and in 24hours he felt so much better. He asked Kyla for her pancakes mini today and it had Nutella on it! She told him he will not like it! He tried and said nope. So I made him real ones with butter and syrup. He ate 4 minis. That was great!!! 😊

So he is resting, and hanging out in this horrible heat waiting for his team to play Saturday.
He is going to do it now, let’s hope they play well! 😆 with the way his mind is working I am not sure how he will react if they lose. lol 😆 Good Night!!! 😴

What a perfect way to explain our life within this moment.!!

Life is a train journey. You board at birth, and here’s the part nobody tells you. Your parents were already on the train when you got on. So you assume they’ll ride with you the whole way.

They won’t. At some station, they get off. And the train keeps moving. That’s the first great shock of the journey. The seats beside you were never permanent.

Over the years, thousands board. Some become precious to you. Siblings, friends, the loves of your life, your children. Some ride with you for decades. Some for a few stops only. And people you adore get off with no warning, at stations you never saw coming, and you carry on with an empty seat beside you that nobody else can see.

Here’s what the theory asks you to understand.

You don’t know which station is yours. Nobody does. You can’t check the map. So the only sane response is this: make the journey MATTER. Love the people in your carriage while they’re actually in it. Say the thing. Take the trip. Forgive fast. Laugh loudly. Stop saving your best self for some future stretch of track that isn’t promised.

And when someone you love reaches their station, grieve, then keep riding FOR them. Carry what they gave you down the line. That’s how they stay on the train.

One day you’ll reach your own station. The theory says the goal is simple. Step off with no regrets about how you rode. Leave behind love, good memories, and people who are glad they shared a carriage with you.

You’re on the train right now. Look around your carriage today. That’s the whole point.

Sunday 13th. Today was a quiet day. Donald, Jamie, and I just hung out with Daniel on the very hot porch. (101)
At one point we asked if he wanted to get in the pool, it was so hot!!! He loves his pool! Jamie and Donald lifted him over and we all got in and enjoyed.

Once we were out we were able to take care of his pressure wounds, bed sores, and his surgical area. He absolutely hates this!!!

Besides this he has a head cold, it is not in his chest it is in his throat so the coughing is hard on him because he is weak.

Overall a good day! His sights are on Saturday. So we are ready for some hockey 🏒

Thank you for all of the prayers and well wishes!!! Your support has been a blessing. I just want to keep you informed, I know so many of you had close relationships or tight friendships with Daniel and this is just as difficult for you!! We will all get through this together. ❤️ ❤️

Well Daniel has officially made it to September 12. Doctors here said he would not make it out of July, hospice thought by end of August, Daniel said no September. I asked him for October! We'll he really wants to see the game on the 19th.

We will see if his will and conviction will see him through. I will say this he has not given up nor have you-- his family and friends!!!

Since August I have been able to take off work and stay home with him to care for him. It is a month today. We have had so many silent days, just staring at each other or out in the yard thinking and pondering. We have had deep conversations about the human form and leaving our bodies behind and our energies being set free. We have been able to laugh and cry. And Lord anger has been shown for good reason!!

All this being said Daniel is ready, he is not afraid, he does NOT WANT to go but he understands his body will not allow him to stay--and that sucks. He LOVES his family and his friends, he loves life, he has never met a stranger, and man he LOVES FOOD!!!

As his breathing decreases and water decreases so does his time. Until then I/we will continue to stay by his side until he is returned homed.

Sending lots of love and peace to all of you tonight!! Thank you for all of your support and prayers.

Love Woodbury/Kendall family I will try to update daily or every other day.
Julie
