The VA has streamlined the disability claims process for Veterans whose military personnel or medical records were damaged or destroyed in the 1973 fire at the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis.

The fire primarily affected:

* Army Veterans discharged between 1912 and 1960
* Air Force Veterans discharged between 1947 and 1964 whose last names begin with Hubbard through Z

Under the new process, affected Veterans will receive one comprehensive packet containing NA Form 13055 for medical-treatment information and NA Form 13075 for service-history information. Once completed, these forms will be saved and reused during future claim development. Veterans should no longer receive repeated requests for the same information unless the National Personnel Records Center specifically needs additional details.

When records were lost in the fire, the VA may use alternative sources such as unit morning reports, hospital admission records and Surgeon General’s Office records. The VA can also consider credible statements from the Veteran, fellow service members, family members or others with firsthand knowledge. Veterans should not be denied solely because official records were destroyed through no fault of their own.

Veterans who believe their records were affected—including those previously denied because records could not be located—should consider filing a new claim or reopening a previously denied claim.

Do not assume you are ineligible simply because your military records were destroyed. Alternative evidence may still be used to establish your service, injury, illness or treatment.

**VA BURIAL BENEFITS: PLAN TODAY, HONOR FOREVER**

Many Veterans and their families may not realize that they have earned valuable burial and memorial benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Depending on eligibility, benefits may include:

• Burial in a VA national cemetery or VA-funded state, territorial, or tribal Veterans cemetery
• A government-furnished headstone or marker
• A burial flag
• Perpetual gravesite care
• Assistance from the VA and funeral directors with planning and scheduling

These benefits may be provided at no cost to the Veteran’s family.

Veterans and their spouses can also apply for a **pre-need eligibility determination before it is needed.** The online application generally takes less than 10 minutes and can help prevent uncertainty during an already difficult time.

For questions about eligibility, the pre-need application, or scheduling a burial, contact the National Cemetery Scheduling Office at **1-800-535-1117**, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

Planning ahead is one of the greatest gifts a Veteran can give their family. Please share this information with the Veterans and surviving spouses in your life.

🏠 New VA Program Helps Veterans Avoid Foreclosure

The VA has launched a new Partial Claim Program for Veterans with VA-backed home loans who have fallen behind on payments.

How does it work?

✅ Eligible Veterans enter a 3-month trial payment plan and make their regular monthly mortgage payments on time.

✅ After successfully completing the trial period, the loan is brought current.

The VA pays the past-due amount to the loan servicer.

Payment can vary based on borrower’s financial situation.

✅ The missed payments are then placed into a separate lien that generally doesn’t have to be repaid until the home is sold, refinanced, or the mortgage is paid off.

This allows Veterans to catch up on missed payments without needing a large lump-sum payment and helps them stay in their homes.

Veterans experiencing financial hardship should contact their mortgage servicer or call the VA at 877-827-3702 (Option 6) to learn more.

🇺🇸 Please share with Veterans and military families who may benefit from this program.

🇺🇸 Veterans — This is one of the strongest home financing opportunities we’ve seen in years.

Lennar is offering LOW VA rates as low as 3.75% fixed on select quick move-in homes across the Valley — but these incentives are only available for a limited time.

🏡 Benefits may include:
✅ VA Fixed Rates starting at 3.75%
✅ Up to $10,000 toward closing costs
✅ Move-in ready homes available now
✅ Communities across Phoenix, Mesa, Surprise, Goodyear, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley & more
✅ Monthly payments that could beat renting

Whether you’re separating from service, relocating, or finally ready to use your VA benefit — this could be the right time to make your move.

Many of these homes are already scheduled for quick closing, and once these rate incentives are gone, they’re gone.

📩 Message me directly for:
• Current available homes
• Monthly payment estimates
• VA eligibility questions
• Zero down payment options
• Help getting prequalified in minutes

Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
