We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Renzi and Save Your Soles for his continued dedication to improving vascular health and preventing avoidable amputations in our community.

In 2024, zip code 19132 recorded 32 amputations. Through education, outreach, and access to free circulation screenings, the number of amputations among Black men decreased to 18 in 2025. This progress reflects the importance of early detection, patient education, and timely intervention.

Yesterday, Dr. Renzi and Save Your Soles continued this important work by providing education and free circulation screenings in ZIP Code 19132 at New Joy Missionary Baptist Church on West Allegheny Avenue.

Yesterday was a great day despite the weather, the Rumph Cookout was a true success.
Thank you to Marcus and Candy for inviting Nurses of Save Your Soles to come out and empower the community.

We were proud to provide blood pressure screenings, BMI assessments, and circulation checks alongside Dr. Renzi and the Save Your Soles team. We were also able to connect several individuals with our nurse practitioner team and case management services. It was especially rewarding to give our nursing students hands-on experience and show them what community-based care looks like in action.

A big shoutout and thank you to Raissa Walker for coming out and educating the community on the power and importance of your vote. She also provided tools to check voter registration status and offered opportunities to register right on the spot.

Thank you to the PA State Coalition and NCNW for educating the community on the importance of vaccinations.

Thank you to the American Heart Association for their participation and for educating the community on hands-only CPR and heart health.

Today marked a meaningful step forward for the youth we serve.
Nurses of Save Your Soles,
Executive Director Mark Butler, Board Member Marcus Owens, Nicole Butler, Founder Michele Butler Barge, and President Sheri Johnson came together to deliver a new air conditioner to the arts and crafts/media room at the Daniel E. Rumph II Recreation Center, located at Johnson and Morton. A special thank you to Mr. Jimmy for preparing the room, and getting it set up and ready for use.

As the recreation center prepares to welcome campers this summer, this new addition will help create a cool, comfortable space where young people can learn, create, and thrive.
