Disability P⏻wer on the Hill may have ended but we wanted to look back on the impact it had. Seventy-Five advocates from 17 states held meetings with 72 different Congressional offices over the course of two days. That is the power of the disability community. We asked several of the advocates there to talk about their experiences, and this is what they had to say. https://www.aapd.com/disability-power-on-the-hill-2026-voices-advocacy-and-community-in-action/

Disability P⏻wer on the Hill was a huge success! Close to 70 advocates from across the country spoke to their members of Congress about issues including special education, social security asset limits, home- and community-based services, and more. The deadline to register for Pennsylvania's primary is fast approaching. May 4 is your last day to register indeed May 4 be with you! Voting is an act of civic responsibility in which we can all participate. It's one of the best ways to ensure that our legislators take us seriously. Remember that when you call, they are able to see whether or not you are an active voter. Your vote literally makes you someone more likely to get a meeting and have your concerns heard. A link to check your voter registration status will be in the first comment. How you vote is private. Whether you vote impacts us all!

BREAKING: I just signed three Executive Orders to expand protections for Pennsylvanians with disabilities. Here’s what they do ⬇️

1. Creates a NEW commission to help coordinate my Administration’s work to support every Pennsylvanian with disabilities — with a direct line to me and my senior staff.

2. Directs state agencies to go above and beyond to ensure services are accessible — and protect people with disabilities’ personal information from federal overreach.

3. Strengthens the Developmental Disabilities Council and charges them with developing and implementing a meaningful statewide plan on developmental disability.
