May 14th we were able to create awareness for an amazing cause. Lupus Awareness. Lupus affects so many people. Our dedication board is full of names with individuals that are currently battling lupus, or who has succumbed to it. I challenge you to get checked out and be mindful of any of the warning signs. We were also able to support our fellow Upser Kyle Kwill Williams who’s beautiful daughter Tiera Williams lost her battle with Lupus in 2009, after only being diagnosed in 2008.

There is empowerment in knowledge. The more you know, the more you grow. Take charge of your health. Never let an illness become greater than your ability without a fight!!!!

We at UPS recognize the month of May as Lupus Awareness Month. If you or someone you know are suffering with Lupus, please submit their name so that we can acknowledge them on our board of dedication. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease where the immune system mistakenly attacks your body’s healthy tissues. Let’s spread the message and work on getting diagnosed early.

Join us on May 14th, in between B5 & B6, as we create Lupus Awareness, celebrate the survival and mourn those we lost.

This Thursday, we will be raising awareness for Mental Health and Brain Injury Month. Please join the Twi Safety Team as we recognize the struggles and successes of overcoming mental health conditions and recovering from traumatic brain injuries.

Yesterday proved to be an amazing day as we organized our first Prostate Cancer Awareness Day. Although the event featured enjoyable and engaging elements such as light refreshments, music, and giveaways, the informational value of the materials we distributed was truly priceless.

Here is a recap of yesterday……

Men, 1 in 8 of you will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. The good news is that it is treatable if diagnosed early. Black men, 1 in 6 of you will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Please get checked out. We care and need you. 💙💙💙
