Maybe you have seen me share Take a Pause before and thought:
“I am not good at meditation.”
“I do not have time.”
“I would feel awkward joining.”
“I do not want to be on camera.”
“I will try it another week.”
Here is what I want you to know:
You do not need to be good at anything.
Take a Pause is simply a free, welcoming space to step away from your day for 30 minutes, breathe, settle your nervous system, and reconnect with yourself.
Your camera can stay off.
You never have to speak.
You can join from your desk, your kitchen, or your favorite quiet corner.
And you are welcome whether it is your first visit or your tenth.
Sometimes we keep waiting for life to become less busy before we give ourselves permission to pause.
But perhaps the pause is what helps us meet the busyness a little differently.
Join me Tuesday from 8:30–9:00 a.m. Arizona time.
Free. Virtual. No registration required.

Your feelings are real. Your thoughts are real. Your emotions are real.
But they are not all of who you are, and they do not have to become your reality.
Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is pause, notice what is present, and allow it to move through us without judgment.
Like clouds passing across the sky or water flowing downstream, our thoughts and feelings are meant to shift, soften, and change.
Acknowledge them. Honor them. Listen to what they may be showing you.
And then gently remind yourself:
I can feel this without becoming this.

“To listen to the soul, we must lend an ear, because the soul’s voice is not a shout, but a whisper.”

Profound words attributed to Pope Leo XIV and I could not have said it better.

The soul’s voice is not a shout, but a whisper.

Take a pause. Connect within. Listen. The whispers you hear are meant for you and you alone.

The space between music notes, between our breaths, the void, the space in the pause…
is where we find our own personal magic.

Anyone else feel like May carries a strange mix of excitement and emotional overwhelm?

So many transitions happen at once:
☀️ changing seasons
🎓 graduations
💛 identity shifts
🌊 uncertainty
🌱 new beginnings

Sometimes we rush into the next chapter so quickly that we never pause long enough to process the one that just ended.
I wrote a new blog about learning to stay grounded in the “in-between” seasons of life.

Maybe you don’t need all the answers right now.
Maybe you just need a moment to breathe.

Sometimes mindfulness doesn’t have to be serious…
It can actually be a little fun.

Today I pulled this from a small jar on my desk,
a collection of simple practices I turn to when I need a reset.

This one was mindful listening…
and honestly, I had never tried it this way before.
Pick a random song.
Something completely new.
And listen to it without judgment.

No analyzing.
No skipping.
No deciding if it’s “good” or not.
Just listening.

It’s such a small shift… but it changes the experience entirely.

Now I’m curious,
if you try this, what do you notice? 👀

You don’t have to be at your limit to deserve support.
That line stopped me.
Because if I’m honest… I usually don’t pause until I’m already there.
Not burnt out.
Not broken.
Just… off.

Lately, I’ve been noticing the earlier signs:
▪ Less patience
▪ More noise overwhelm
▪ Wanting to retreat instead of connect
▪ Functioning… but everything feels heavier
And that’s the moment that matters most.
Not when you’ve hit the wall, but when you’re getting close to the edge.
I wrote a blog about how to recognize those subtle signals (and what to do before burnout hits), plus a simple 2-minute check-in tool I’ve been using myself.

If you’ve been feeling “a little off” lately, this is for you.

I had a thought on vacation…
“How do I bring this feeling home with me?”
✨ Feeling present
✨ Slower pace
✨ Actually enjoying life
And if I’m being honest…
It lasted about a day 🙃
Because real life comes back fast, emails, schedules, responsibilities.
But one question from my trip stuck with me:
“When do you enjoy life?”
Oof.
So I’ve been trying something different, bringing the magic into everyday moments:
• Scheduling “me time” (like it actually matters… because it does)
• Leaving space open (not every day needs to be packed)
• Checking in with myself during the day
• Planning joy BEFORE work fills the space
You don’t have to wait for vacation to feel like yourself again 🤍
Work to live. Don’t live to work.
What’s one small way you can bring a little more balance into your day today?

World Happiness Day is March 20.

Sometimes the hardest part is not creating more happiness.
It is remembering what it even feels like.
Especially for parents, caregivers, and helpers, so much time can go into caring for others that we lose touch with what fills us up.
There is the kind of happiness that feels good in the moment, comfort, ease, enjoyment.
And there is the kind that feels meaningful, purpose, alignment, and connection.
Both matter.
Maybe the place to begin is simply asking:
What fills me up, even a little?
Because maybe happiness is not one big revelation.
Maybe it is a quiet process of returning.

February often turns love into a checklist — flowers, reservations, proof.
But recently I saw a simple phrase that stopped me:
“The heart knows.”
Not the to-do list.
Not the pressure.
Not the inner critic asking if you’re doing enough.
The heart.
In leadership and life, we default to strategy, urgency, and output. But steadiness doesn’t come from controlling everything around us — it comes from regulating what’s within us.
Heart-led resilience isn’t forced positivity. It’s intentionally activating qualities already available:
• Appreciation
• Compassion
• Gratitude
• Patience
• Kindness
Even a few seconds can shift your nervous system — and your presence.
This month, instead of asking, “Am I doing enough?”
Try asking, “What does my heart know right now?”
The answer is usually quieter — and wiser.
If you’re feeling stretched or disconnected, I’d be honored to support you.
