Yesterday was our little Everett’s first birthday! We are spending time with him, Isabelle and all the mosquitos up in Wisconsin celebrating his birthday. Lots of new family memories and lots of things to be grateful for. Rhett’s taken his first little steps, loves bringing the smiles, loves the cuddles as much as the wiggles, (not the band, actual wiggling 🤪), and Max & I always say, he completed our family. Lots of love for this little love bug.

I have a large handful of clients who have not done any advanced treatments like microneedling, deep chemical peels or Hydrafacials, and only come in to the studio for their monthly facial/light peel. They use daily sunscreen, and they have their skincare routine dialed in at home, morning and night. ⁣

A year ago it was the beginning of 2023….. Week-to-week it’s easy to feel overwhelmed/down in what you haven’t crossed off that to-do list, but look back at the last 12, 24, 36 months and see how far you’ve come. It will inspire you to keep at your big idea/dream/goal. 🤔

Happy December! This is the month I get to renew my aesthetics license, and I’ve been reflecting on what I LOVE the best about what I do. 💁🏼‍♀️⁣

My absolute favorite part of my work is that I get to help clients build their self confidence. Not only does this give back to your client, but in elevating their self-esteem, you positively impact their community since they will show up as a better version of themselves. ⁣

I know for me, it’s extremely easy to fall into this disempowering pattern. ⁣
⁣
Part of the reason why I am a solo aesthetician business owner is so that I can create a schedule around my kids while earning $$ for my family. Being able to show up for them, especially in their first year has meant a lot to me, it’s been extremely challenging but it’s also something I’m really proud of.⁣
⁣
At the same time, it’s extremely easy to use the excuse that I don’t have enough time now that I’m a mom of two very young kids to show up fully for my business. ⁣

Don’t get stuck having to reschedule your treatment this fall! Proper prep means you get the most from your treatment investment –plus, these guidelines are in place to keep you safe.⁣
⁣
1. No direct sun exposure - this compromises your skin barrier, and active ingredients can no longer be used until your visible sun exposure has passed, (especially important if you’re receiving a chemical peel!)⁣
⁣
2. Stop actives 3 days before - this includes higher % AHA and BHAs like glycolic acid or salicylic acid, as well as retinol. ⁣
⁣
3. Exercise the day before, or the morning of - this is also important if you’re going in for a chemical peel, as you do not want any additional heat under the skin when receiving a peel. ⁣
⁣
4. Reschedule if you have a fever blister or cold sore - doing a treatment can aggravate a sore, ultimately making it worse. ⁣
⁣
5. No Botox or Fillers within two weeks - this ensures that your filler and Tox stays put, and that professional ingredients do not adversely interact with your injectables.

The reason I love being an aesthetician is because I receive so much joy in helping others increase their self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth through treatments and skincare. I believe mental health is impacted by how you show up for your self care. Practicing aesthetics is my favorite form of self care because it allows your inner beauty and personal growth to shine through your skin, creating a positive cycle of confidence and empowerment. 🤩

My gorgeous client, Christie’s, progress after just one corrective facial ➕ AlphaRet (retinol) & EvenTone Correcting Serum (pigment inhibitor) at home. Christie is also using PCA cleansers and Arbonne moisturizers alongside of her corrective products.
