The HUG Clinic and SAPHE Lab at GateWay HUG is a state-licensed, pro bono student-led clinic; SaPHE is a safe patient handling/mobility lab.

The HUG Clinic and SaPHE Lab are powered by GateWay Community College. Healthcare United at GateWay (HUG) Clinic is a state licensed pro bono clinic through GateWay Community College that serves to increase the clinical education experience of our healthcare students while benefiting our local community who may not typically have access or resources to healthcare services. We are one of the first

clinics in the United States that offers this unique combination of specialty care services. GateWay Community College has the only community college-based Safe Patient Handling Education (SaPHE) Lab in the Southwest for use by students attending various Allied Health and Nursing programs.
