The Pressure Injury That Turned Around With One New Habit

A bed‑bound patient had a stage 2 pressure injury that kept reopening. The issue wasn’t the dressing - it was the lack of repositioning.

What training the family needs is a simple schedule:
• Turn the patient every 2 hours
• Use pillows to offload pressure
• Keep skin clean and dry

The wound is no longer subject to consistent pressure - and has a chance to heal and stayed closed.

Takeaway: Pressure injuries are preventable with consistent offloading.

It's all about Education:

The Vitamin C Boost That Made a Difference

A patient recovering from surgery had a stubborn incision that wasn’t progressing. We reviewed his diet - almost no fruits or vegetables. We advised the family to introduce vitamin‑C‑rich foods: oranges, bell peppers, strawberries, broccoli, to name a few.
Within 10 days, his wound bed looked healthier and collagen formation improved.

Takeaway: Vitamin C is essential for collagen production and wound strength. Supplements are also great if there is an issue with the patient unable to consume larger quantities of fresh fruit and vegetables, but fresh is always best

Hydration Saved Her Skin

One of or patient's skin tears were happening more often. Her wound edges were fragile, thin, and slow to close. During our visit, we learned she was drinking less than 2 cups of water a day.
We created a hydration plan - small sips every hour, flavored water, and hydrating foods like watermelon and cucumbers.
Her skin became more resilient, and her wounds healed faster.

Takeaway: Dehydration makes skin fragile. Hydration is a wound‑healing superpower.

The Diabetic Foot Ulcer That Didn’t Have to Happen

The Patient was a busy grandfather who skipped his daily foot checks. One tiny blister from a new pair of shoes turned into a deep ulcer within days. When we arrived, he said, “I didn’t think something so small could get this bad.”

What we taught him:
• Check feet daily
• Never ignore redness or swelling
• Moisturize dry skin
• Wear properly fitted shoes

With consistent mobile wound care and better prevention habits, the patient healed — and hasn’t had another ulcer since.

Takeaway: Most diabetic foot wounds are preventable with simple daily habits.

The Patient Who Healed Faster After One Simple Change

The patient had been struggling with a slow‑healing leg ulcer for months. When our mobile wound‑care team first visited her, we noticed something important: she was barely eating protein.
We added one small daily habit - a protein‑rich snack like Greek yogurt, eggs, or a protein shake.
Within weeks, her wound bed looked healthier and her healing rate improved.

Why it matters: Protein is the building block of new tissue. Without it, wounds simply take a long time repair.

Takeaway: Nutrition is medicine. Healing starts from the inside out.
