Memorial Day - usually a day to see a parade, have a service at the cemetery, honor and remember our service members, picnic with family. A day spent gathered in mass, as a country.
This morning I’m missing this tradition, and my family. But I pause, I think- well, that’s not even close to how families of fallen soldiers feel. But it’s a glimpse. These Brave Men and Women served our country, and were far away from loved ones. Missed, and prayed for. And THEY GAVE ALL. They could never return to their families.
Take this covid isolation, our current separation from each other to feel the gravity of that, especially this holiday. The depth of their sacrifice. To never be together again. from my heart I’m saying- I’m grateful, and I couldn’t imagine. Because our country, we WILL be able to see each other again, and our country is the very best, because of what the most courageous Americans fought and died for. I personally honor them this weekend, and pray for our country. Thank you, with every breath I take.
