Operation Walk Pittsburgh Operation Walk Pittsburgh provides free hip and knee replacement surgeries to those in need.

Operation Walk Pittsburgh is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing the gift of mobility to patients in need across Central America. Each mission trip involves a team of surgeons, nurses and other personnel who provide joint replacements and arthritis and joint health education completely free of cost. Operation Walk Pittsburgh works side by side with local surgeons, nurses and therapists

to share knowledge, expertise and encourage a true cultural and medical exchange. Since the inaugural trip to Antigua, Guatemala in 2009, Operation Walk Pittsburgh has assembled a volunteer team of surgeons, nurses, support staff and advocates to transform the lives of those in need in countries throughout Central America. These trips offer more than just life-changing surgeries, they are opportunities for cultural exchange and international medical cooperation.. Our Mission: Operation Walk Pittsburgh aims to provide life changing education, service and surgery completely free of cost, to patients in need in Pittsburgh and around the world.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2nd Annual Op Walk Open in support of Mission 2026!🏌️‍♂️

With 80+ attendees and more than $12,000 raised, it was a great day of competition and fun.🏅

Proceeds will directly support the purchase of critical surgical supplies and equipment for Mission 2026. 😁

One of our team's favorite moments each year is seeing patients proudly wave the Terrible Towel after their successful surgeries. It's a simple gesture that creates a meaningful connection, reminding us that hope, healing, and community know no borders.

Today, we celebrate National Nonprofit Day and the Mission of Operation Walk Pittsburgh. 💚

In Mission 2025, our team provided 73 joint replacements and 3 revisions for 59 patients, helping restore mobility and improve quality of life.

We’re grateful for every volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter who makes this life-changing work possible. We are excited to continue to make a difference during Mission 2026!
