Those who truly know me, know I love to write. In addition to, writing solo I am a part of a great team, McKeesport Community Newsroom.

A couple of days ago we received an email to inform us our collaboration with 90.5 WESA won first place in the national Public Media Journalism Association Annual Award (PMJA) division D. for our story on the Mon Valley PRT Chronicles/Acts of Courage/Student Journalists.

Today, I salute our project team and mentor Martha Rial, editor Matt Petras, writers and photographers AnnaLisa Haughwout, Jennifer Obrosky McCalla, Peg Luketic, Vickie Babyak, James E. Busch and all who made this project possible.

(Division D is for major markets in the US, but not the largest such as NYC, LA, DC, etc.)
