Great news! We are now an ISS provider, in addition to accepting Medicaid waivers and private pay. This allows us to welcome a whole new group of clients.

Our fall program is officially underway, and we are actively welcoming new clients! 🍂

Creativity, connection, and learning are all part of a day at Heartland! 💚

From painting and puzzles to hands-on activities and creative projects, our students have opportunities to explore their interests, practice new skills, and enjoy meaningful time with their peers.

For those new here, Heartland Academy is a specialized day program for adults with disabilities, providing a supportive environment focused on continued learning, independence, life skills, and community.

Activities like these help encourage creativity, problem-solving, focus, independence, and social connection, all while giving students a chance to have fun and try something new. 💚

From learning new skills to spending time with friends, there’s always something to look forward to around here.

Our fall semester for Heartland’s year-round program is starting soon! If your loved one recently graduated from high school and you’re looking for a place where they can continue learning, growing, building friendships, and enjoying new experiences, we’d love to welcome you to Heartland.

One of the things that makes our program unique is the flexibility we offer families.

Choose from:

• 5-day program
• 3-day program
• 2-day program

Whether you’re looking for a full week or just a couple of days, you can choose the option that works best for your loved one and your family.

❓1. Who is Heartland Academy for?

Heartland Academy serves young adults with disabilities by providing opportunities to build independence, confidence, life skills, social skills, and meaningful relationships in a supportive environment.

❓2. Do you accept Medicaid waivers?

Yes! We proudly accept Medicaid waivers. If you have questions about eligibility or the enrollment process, our team is happy to help guide you through the next steps.

❓3. How do you structure the program?

Every client begins with an individualized plan developed alongside their family and our trained staff, including a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This personalized approach allows us to build goals around each individual’s strengths, needs, and aspirations while supporting meaningful growth every step of the way.

❓4. Can I tour the facility before enrolling?

Absolutely! We encourage families to schedule a tour to meet our team, see our programs in action, and learn more about what makes Heartland Academy a welcoming place to grow.

Here at Heartland Academy, we put an emphasis on helping every individual communicate their needs in the way that works best for them. Whether that looks like spoken words, gestures, assistive technology, or another form of communication.

Because communication isn’t about everyone communicating the same way. It’s about making sure everyone has a way to communicate. 💙

Does your loved one with special needs need a place to continue learning, growing, and thriving after high school? 💚

For those of you who are new here, we’re Heartland Academy! We’re a structured day program for young adults with special needs, helping each individual continue building confidence, independence, and life skills long after graduation.

At Heartland, our clients have opportunities to develop daily living skills, build meaningful friendships, strengthen communication and social skills, participate in engaging activities, and gain confidence in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment. Every individual is unique, and our program is designed to meet them where they are while helping them reach their fullest potential.

We’ve been having a great time at our summer camp these last few weeks! From Cooking Week to Arts & Crafts, Social Skills Week, and so much more, our participants have been learning new skills, building friendships, and creating memories along the way. ☀️🎨👩‍🍳

While summer camp is a blast, it’s just a small glimpse into what we do year-round at Heartland. Our program for young adults with disabilities provides ongoing opportunities for social connection, community involvement, life skills development, recreation, and personal growth in a supportive and engaging environment. 💛
