This week, I said yes to another 365 days with my business coach.
It wasn’t because I needed another strategy.
Over the past year, I’ve been able to:
Launch and refine my signature 3- and 6-month coaching programs.
Grow Speak to Grow into a space where entrepreneurs learn how to leverage speaking opportunities to increase their impact and revenue. (Relaunching in August, stay tuned)
Expand my vision for retreats beyond local experiences.
And now, I’m on the verge of selling out my first international retreat in Oaxaca, Mexico.
I’m deeply grateful for every one of those milestones.
But they aren’t the reason I renewed.
I renewed because of what happens in between the milestones.
The moments when I can’t see my own blind spots.
The moments when I’m growing so quickly that I need someone to help me sort through the noise.
The moments when I’m navigating a challenge and need someone to ask the question I haven’t thought to ask myself.
The moments when I need to be reminded of who I am and where I’m headed.
That’s what great coaching has given me.
Not someone to tell me what to do.
Someone who helps me see more clearly.
Someone who challenges me.
Someone who celebrates with me.
Someone who helps me move forward with more confidence and less second-guessing.
As entrepreneurs, we spend so much time being the one others rely on.
The leader.
The problem solver.
The decision maker.
I’ve learned that having someone in your corner doesn’t make you less capable.
It makes you stronger.
And if I’m being honest, I don’t think I would be where I am today, 11 years into entrepreneurship, without the coaches, mentors, and communities that have helped me grow along the way.
This is one of the reasons I believe so deeply in coaching.
Not because people need fixing.
Because sometimes the fastest path forward is having someone help you see what you can’t see on your own.
