Do you struggle with perfectionism?

This is one of the common themes that came up in our recent 5-day healthy habits challenge.

It’s hard to create new habits. Because that means we ACTUALLY have to change. 😱

And change is hard. For everyone.

You’re not alone.

When we can shift our mindset away from trying to be perfect, checking alllll the boxes, feeling like we have to do it right…

We open up a world of sparkling possibility.

As long as you’re taking ONE tiny step in the direction you want to go, you’re making progress.

Even if progress looks like:

✅ Pausing and taking 1 deep breath

✅ Rolling out your yoga mat (not even moving on it)

✅ Going to bed 1 minute earlier

✅ Noticing you’re super stressed out and you’ve overbooked yourself (because that means you are aware and can choose to make an adjustment)

✅ Making a mistake and then apologizing for it

✅ Tuning into your body and seeing what feels right

✅ Laying down on the couch and taking a nap instead of bulldozing through your to-do list

Success isn’t measured by perfection.

It’s a combination of minuscule, seemingly insignificant choices that add up to major shifts in your life.

5 years ago today, we eloped in Kauai 💕🌸

It wasn’t a secret. We just didn’t tell… pretty much everyone 😉

We decided to elope because the church in Germany where we planned to get married six months later wouldn’t allow a ceremony there UNLESS we were married first 🤷🏻‍♀️

And for an American and dual citizen to get married in Germany there are sooooo many rules 🤪 😂

So we went on vacation in Kauai and eloped.

It was magical!

you are the man of my dreams.

I never knew there could exist such a perfect match with our imperfections.

The past 10 years together have been the happiest, healthiest, most rewarding and expansive of my life.

You are my light, my love, my anchor, my best friend.

May all beings everywhere experience happiness like this in 2022 and beyond ❤️

What do YOU want to attract into your life in 2022? ✨

Let these last days leading up to the New Year be the moments that prepare you for expansive growth and deep healing next year.

Here’s how:

1️⃣Set aside 20 minutes ⏰

2️⃣Make some ☕️, grab your📔🖊, light a 🕯 and put on some inspiring 🎶

3️⃣ Close your eyes and take 5 deep belly breaths 🧘🏻‍♀️

4️⃣Open your eyes and write down ✍🏼 a list of your affirmations: alllllll the thoughts, feelings and experiences you want to bring in OR eliminate from your life in 2022. 

PRO TIP: Make sure to use positive “I am” statements in the present tense as if the statement is already true in order to manifest faster ✅

The other day, I felt stuck. 😩

I felt like there was WAY too much to do and not enough time to get it all done before the holidays.

Can you relate?Rather than ruminating about alllllll the things on my to do list, I sat down. Closed my eyes and took ✨3 deep breaths ✨When I opened my eyes, I just started completing my tasks. ✅One thing at a time.
✅With breath and with presence.
✅With the belief that I could AND would get it all done.

Did it work?Yes! With 15 minutes to spare 😍

Here’s my key takeaway.➡️We can spend waaaaay too much time thinking, being stuck in our heads about the tasks stressing us out instead of JUST. DOING. THEM.

The other thing I realized?

There were a couple of items on my list that just didn't need to get done. So I crossed them out ❌ ❌

Do you feel bad about putting yourself first? 😔

That people will judge you or be upset if you do? 😝

I can relate.

My ex used to tell me I was selfish when I politely declined invitations to holiday parties or dinner with friends at times.

While that didn’t feel good, I knew it my heart it was the best choice for me. 💯

As an ambivert, there were times when my introvert side needed to slow down, get quiet and spend some alone time to recharge and renew. 😴

Afterwards, I felt more energized, excited and fully present for the next social event. ⚡️

That’s why I believe it’s never selfish to take time for yourself. ❤️

In fact, it’s ESSENTIAL.

Because taking time for yourself is the fastest way to fill your cup. It empowers you to show up as your best self and have plenty of time, love and attention to share with others — when you’re good and ready. ⭐️
