Be a Smart Consumer When It Comes to Your Health

1. Shopping Wisely:
- Read Labels: Always check nutritional labels before purchasing food items. Look for added sugars, sodium, and unhealthy fats.
- Shop the Perimeter: Focus on the outer aisles of the grocery store where fresh produce, meats, and dairy are typically located, avoiding processed foods in the inner aisles.
- Buy Seasonal and Local: Choose fruits and vegetables that are in season and locally sourced; they tend to be fresher and more nutritious.

2. Moving Your Body:
- Invest in Quality Over Quantity: Instead of following every trendy exercise regime, focus on finding a form of physical activity you genuinely enjoy, whether it’s dancing, hiking, or swimming.
- Start Small: Incorporate physical activity into your daily routine, like taking stairs instead of the elevator or going for short walks throughout the day.
- Hire a Professional: If trying a new workout, consider hiring a certified trainer for a few sessions to ensure you're using proper techniques and not risking injury.

3. Purchases to Avoid:
- Beware of Gimmicks: Be cautious of products that promise quick fixes like weight loss pills or miracle diets. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
- Limit Fitness Equipment: Avoid investing in expensive home gym equipment unless you're certain you'll use it consistently. Simple options like resistance bands are often enough. Start working out, see what you like and love and then if you really love it and don’t have a gym membership buy it.
- Question Supplement Claims: Research any health supplements or powders. Many do not have conclusive evidence backing their benefits, and WHOLE foods usually offer better nutrition.

By being mindful and informed, to make better choices that support your health.
