Welcome to the Achieving Optimal Health Conference 2026 ☀️

An inspiring summer school series in partnership with Georgetown University where health meets heart and where wisdom, science, and authentic conversation come together in meaningful ways.

This year’s gathering explores happiness, resilience, mental health, authentic living, connection, conservation, healthy aging, and the many ways wellbeing is shaped not only by how we care for ourselves, but by how we care for one another and the world around us.

We’ve already kicked off the summer with powerful conversations featuring Charles DeSantis, Kristen Coffield, Dr. Kostadin Kushlev, Paula Kahumbu, Melissa Yamaguchi, Mariel Hemingway, and more — exploring everything from resilience and joy to digital wellbeing, nature, spirituality, authenticity, and human connection.

You’ll also experience grounding meditations led by Doro and thoughtful conversations designed to inspire reflection, connection, and meaningful change.

Whether you’re tuning in from your kitchen, porch, office, or beach chair, this is your invitation to pause, reconnect, and nourish your wellbeing this summer.

Our first responders may have one of the most high-stress jobs around. The media will often scrutinize their performance after a catastrophe, but what if we implemented a high level of resilience resources for them all along the way? Does it work? Could it work in other fields? Please join us as we explore these topics on Health Gig podcast with Ed Morales this week.

Join Kristen Coffield for an inspiring exploration of active grandparenting and the profound role grandparents can play in shaping the health, happiness, and wellbeing of future generations. Drawing from her work helping families reconnect through movement, nourishment, outdoor experiences, and intentional living, Kristen shares practical ways grandparents can build deeper relationships with grandchildren while also supporting their own vitality and healthy aging.

Her message is both hopeful and empowering, reminding us that grandparenting today can be far more than a supporting role. It can be an opportunity to model resilience, curiosity, wellbeing, and joy while creating meaningful memories and stronger family connections that ripple across generations.

We welcome conservationist and wildlife advocate Paula Kahumbu for a moving exploration of nature, wellbeing, conservation, and community. Through stories of elephants, forests, children, and life in the natural world, this conversation reflects on what happens when we lose our connection to nature, and what becomes possible when we rebuild it.

Paula shares powerful insights from her decades of work protecting elephants and wildlife across Africa, including her efforts to combat poaching, support coexistence between humans and animals, and inspire the next generation through outdoor education and storytelling. Along the way, she reflects on awe, resilience, curiosity, forgiveness, and the importance of helping children experience nature not through screens, but through direct connection with the living world around them.

You will hear extraordinary stories of elephant intelligence, family structures, and emotional depth, alongside deeply human stories about courage, community, and the people living on the front lines of conservation. Paula also explores how time outdoors can support emotional wellbeing, creativity, perspective, and a greater sense of belonging within the larger web of life.

Grounded, inspiring, and filled with wisdom, this conversation is a reminder that nature is not separate from us. It shapes us, heals us, teaches us, and reconnects us to something far larger than ourselves. AchievingOptimalHealthConfetence.com

Zinc can be a powerful short-term ally—especially when your immune system needs extra support 🤍

It plays a key role in immune function, wound healing, and inflammation control. Many people use zinc at the first signs of getting run down to help support the body’s response and may shorten the duration of common colds when taken early.

Short-term use can be helpful during high-stress periods, travel, seasonal shifts, or when you feel symptoms coming on.

But more isn’t better. High doses over time can disrupt copper balance, impact digestion, and even weaken immune function. Zinc can also interfere with certain medications and is best taken away from calcium or iron for proper absorption.

Think of it as targeted support—not a daily megadose. When in doubt, keep it balanced and check in with a practitioner 🤍

Regular movement supports circulation, balances hormones, improves mood, and helps regulate the nervous system. We suggest aiming for consistency over intensity.

A walk, a stretch, a few minutes of strength—these small inputs add up. Your body responds to what you do daily, not occasionally.

Keep it simple. Keep it steady. Let movement support you.
