Dear Friends and Kindhearted Strangers,
It has been a long time since I participated in social media, but I am reaching out today with a heart full of hope and humility, seeking a life-saving gift—a kidney transplant.
For many years now, I have been battling polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a hereditary condition that has gradually and relentlessly taken a toll on the ability of my kidneys to function. It is what ultimately took the life of my loving Father in his mid-60s, way too soon. As this disease progresses, it severely impairs my ability to live a normal life, soon leaving me tethered to dialysis and continuing to endure constant fatigue, excruciating pain, and the looming fear of the unknown. Despite the challenges, I have held onto every precious moment with my family, dreaming of the day I might be free from the forthcoming burden of dialysis and constant pain and agony.
The decision to donate a kidney is not one taken lightly, and I am profoundly aware of the immense generosity and bravery it requires. Just the thought that someone might be willing to offer such an extraordinary gift fills me with overwhelming gratitude and a renewed sense of hope. It is a gesture that speaks volumes about the incredible kindness and compassion that does exist in our world. To the potential donor, you are offering not just a kidney, but a second chance at a robust life, an opportunity to allow me to see my children grow into adulthood, to pursue my bucket-list passions, and to simply live without the constant shadow of pain and illness. Obviously, a potential donor would be thoroughly tested to make sure that the surviving kidney would function extremely well into the future, and there would be no medical cost to the donor in undertaking this offering.
From the depths of my heart, I want to express my sincerest gratitude to anyone considering this selfless act. Your willingness to help a stranger in need is nothing short of heroic. Whether or not you are able to donate, your consideration alone brings light into my life and encourages me to keep fighting. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for your empathy, and for your generosity. It is people like you who make the world a better, kinder place.
If you know of anyone that may have interest in donating a kidney and need more information, they may contact me at my email address [email protected].
Thank you.
