Chronic illness that is developed through life has half of its roots in the soul. Our souls are intertwined with our bodies, causing one to affect the other. If we do not address issues in the body, it can affect our mindset and emotions — a lack of exercise resulting in depression, for example. And if we do not address issues in the soul, it will affect our bodies — primarily the manifestation of emotional trauma in the body.
Chronic illness healing often is focused on protocols, supplementation, lifestyle, “brain rewiring”, and other biohacks. And while all these can contribute to a person’s unique puzzle for healing, a lack of trauma-informed counseling often prevents a person from reaching their breakthrough.
We highly encourage anyone with a chronic illness to work alongside a counselor throughout their healing journey to address issues from the past that may be affecting them today and develop whole-person resilience moving forward.
