A work in progress 🌸

That version of me who only wanted to be “free”. The idea of being tied down, especially to someone, was not an option for me. It was terrifying.

I thought this was my saving grace. But what I’ve come to realize is this distance I was creating - it was FEAR.
Fear of getting hurt —
What if they leave me? Don’t love me anymore? Am I worthy? A deeply rooted fear that only consistent self work could reveal over time.

This false idea of freedom was hurting me more than it was helping me. I was avoiding true love, not allowing anyone close enough to hurt me. In my friendships, in my relationships, everywhere I turned.

Today, my definition of freedom has changed. I take the “risk” I believe I’m worthy of true, unconditional love. The anxiety STILL exists. It still shows up more often than I’d like. But I’m aware of it. I see it, accept its desire to protect me and continue to expand outside of my walls.

LOVE is the greatest gift. Without it, what is life?
Let love in. Starting with me. I love you. I forgive you. I’m proud of you. You’re safe 💕

BUT no one also tells you that their hugs heal everything. One kiss or one I love you can brighten your entire day. These crazy days… these are the days I know I’ll miss when they’re older and don’t look for mommy & daddy so much.
