Due to a recent positive COVID case at Healing Transitions' Women's campus we are halting run club at that campus until 09/26/2020. The running at the Men's Campus will continue. Keep connecting and enjoy this great weather!👟🔥👟

Oak City Recovery Run Club is permitted to have up to six community members attend clubs at the Men's or Women's HT campuses. If you would like to attend and HT held club please sign up for a time slot through this form. The six that have signed up will be posted on Facebook or emailed directly prior to the club start--only first names will be used--please let us know if you would prefer a private message. We ask that when signing up women stick to women and men to men. We will allow women to attend the men's campus but will not allow men to attend the women's campus for safety reasons.

Run Clubs are held at 6PM on Tuesday nights and 8AM on Saturday mornings at the Men's HT campus, 1251 Goode St., and the Women's HT campus, 3304 Glen Royal Rd. Since COVID, we have been holding the run club at separate campuses. We hope one day we will be able to host a combined Saturday morning club but for the time being will stay at the different campuses.

And, a lot of this has to do with HT participants and COVID regulations. A highlight of the club is running/walking/being together with each other outside of club times. Please get together among yourselves, keep the connections and the heart rate up! Thank you all for you dedication and commitment to the Oak City Recovery Run Club!

It’s not often that we ask someone to speak for a second time, however Omer's story is one that continues to leave us in awe. Omer is a staple in the Raleigh running community, and we love it when he runs with us (or ahead of us).

Omer’s story involves running over 713 miles to escape civil war in Sudan and eventually coming to the United States, where he gained Citizenship in 2019 (but we won’t give all the good stuff away).

Come join us tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM on Zoom (Meeting ID: 974 1733 7975). Omar will share his story, and we will follow with a virtual run/walk from 8-9, followed by fellowship from 9-9:30. Hope to see you there!

Tonight at 6 PM EST on Zoom will be leading us in Barre! Zoom ID 974 1733 7975 We’ll be attempting a live stream on Facebook as well. All are welcome!

Christin is a strong ally, and has been running and volunteering with Oak City for over 2 years! She has run 4 full marathons and has been accepted to run both the New York and Chicago Marathons in the fall. She is very passionate about running, but also loves to do barre and yoga. She will be leading a hybrid workout that combines barre, yoga, pilates and strength training for one killer work out. Please bring a mat/weights/chair if you have them, but these are not required! Hope to see you tonight!

Tomorrow morning we’ll be having a speaker meeting on zoom at our usual time (7:30 AM), followed by a run from 8-9. Afterwards we’ll fellowship from 9-9:30. Also, on Sunday at 12 PM, we’ll be having a leadership meeting to discuss upcoming virtual events. Zoom meeting ID for both is 974 1733 7975 If you’re not able to attend but have input about dates/times/activities you’d like to do, please email your thoughts to [email protected] About our speaker: Macy Williamson aka has spent her Saturday mornings with OCRRC over the past year, and has really enjoyed participating in races and giving rides to our participants. Fitness and service work have played large roles in her recovery, and we’re excited to hear her story! @ Healing Transitions

Yoga on Zoom tonight at 6 PM EST! This is free and you do not have to be in recovery to attend! Meeting ID 974 1733 7975 Kristin Richmond will be leading us- “E-RYT - Since 2011, she’s been on a path of discovery and hopes to never stop learning. Yoga has seen her through many joys, losses, and all kinds of “life showing up”. Somewhere inside all the healing and peeling back layers of her own truth, she found her purpose of helping others do the same. Her devotion to growth is reflected in her heartfelt class offerings, which are a playful experience of strength and surrender. Often inspired by the seasons, she weaves in different techniques of pranayama, meditation, and other rituals of spirit and service that have guided her journey.” @ Healing Transitions
