Fall is for everyone!

It's officially October, and that means it's time to kick of fun fall activities. The Where to wheel app helps to make finding spaces with accessibility possible, which is important for allowing everyone to enjoy their fall experiences. From enjoying colorful foliage to exploring local fall festivals, there are plenty of ways to make the most of the season while creating memories with family and friends.

Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month is about more than raising awareness: it’s about creating greater understanding of what accessibility can look like in everyday life.

For someone living with a spinal cord injury, navigating a home can present challenges that weren’t there before. Stairs, entryways, bathrooms, and other everyday spaces may need to be adapted to support greater independence and safety.

That’s where thoughtful accessibility solutions can make a meaningful difference. From modular ramps that improve home entry to other accessibility modifications, the right changes can help make a home work better for the way someone lives today.

This month, we’re continuing the conversation: Accessibility isn’t one-size-fits-all. It starts with understanding the individual, their home, and what helps them live more independently.

At Amramp, we’re proud to help make access possible - one home at a time. Learn more at amramp.com.

Amramp Accessibility, a national provider of wheelchair ramps and other accessibility solutions, has expanded its presence in Florida with the opening of Amramp South Florida, operated by Phoenix Pro, an Amramp partner.

This new location is owned by Alex Modric, who works alongside his family including his brother, Tiy Dyer, and father, George. Through Phoenix Pro, the family has extensive experience helping Floridians facing mobility challenges remain safer and more independent in their homes. Their background in home modifications and aging-in-place solutions, along with Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) credentials, provides a strong foundation for serving Amramp customers throughout South Florida.

“Phoenix Pro and Amramp share a commitment to helping people live safely and independently in their own homes,” said Alex Modric. “This partnership allows us to combine our home modification experience and established relationships throughout Florida with Amramp’s specialized accessibility solutions. Together, we can provide a responsive, hands-on approach that benefits the people we serve as well as the organizations responsible for coordinating and funding their care.”

Each September, National Rehabilitation Awareness Week recognizes the impact of rehabilitation, followed by Falls Prevention Awareness Week from September 21 through 25. Together, these observances highlight an important part of recovery that can be overlooked: preparing the home for a safe return.

Recovery does not end when someone leaves a hospital or rehabilitation facility. Returning home is an important milestone, but the home may need to be adjusted to support the person’s current mobility, safety and independence.
