While more Medicaid patients and even some on private plans have gained doula coverage in recent years, United is the first major insurer to begin rolling out the benefit nationwide.

What an incredible honor to be part of Onna’s pregnancy and birth journey. Today she welcomed her beautiful baby girl, Hazel, into the world—and it was truly powerful to witness.
Onna was absolutely amazing in labor. She showed so much strength, determination, and love as she brought Hazel earthside. Her mom and sister-in-law stood by her with unwavering support, and together with the wonderful nurses and doctor, the room was filled with encouragement and care every step of the way.
And then… Hazel arrived. Perfect, peaceful, and absolutely gorgeous.
Moments like this are why I love being a doula—watching a woman discover just how strong she is and seeing a family grow right before your eyes. Welcome to the world, sweet Hazel. You are already so loved. 💕✨

It was truly an honor to attend Onna's 34-week prenatal appointment alongside her mother, Josie. Baby Hazel is doing beautifully, and my heart is so full with gratitude for the opportunity to support this special family during such a meaningful moment.
