🧠 The ‘Why’ Behind the Way: Receptive vs. Expressive Language

Ever wonder why your child can follow a direction like “Go get your shoes” but can’t say the word “shoes” yet?

That’s the difference between receptive language (what we understand) and expressive language (what we say). Most children understand far more than they can express. Our goal in therapy is to help bridge that gap so their communication can catch up to what they already know.

ABA therapy is about more than goals—it’s about helping children gain confidence, independence, and life-changing skills in a supportive environment.

As we head into the weekend, we celebrate all the hard work our learners and families have put in this week. You should be proud of every step forward.

✨ DIY Craft Idea: “Sticker Sorting & Matching Boards"
Grab a sheet of paper or cardstock and draw simple categories (like colors, shapes, animals, or emotions). Provide a variety of stickers and have your child sort and place them into the matching sections. This activity helps build early categorization skills, attention to detail, fine motor skills, and following directions—all in a fun, visual, and structured way.
