EFT or tapping is a mind-body practice that combines cognitive therapy and acupressure.
EFT has demonstrated effectiveness in addressing anxiety and PTSD symptoms.
How does it work?
You start by identifying the issue or fear you have. This is what you'll focus on while tapping.
After you identify your focus area, set a benchmark level of intensity. Typically, we rate the intensity on a scale from 0 to 10, with 10 being the worst or most difficult. Placing this focus area on a scale helps you monitor your progress after completing a full EFT sequence.
Before you begin your tapping sequence, you need to establish a phrase that explains what you’re trying to address. Here, Dr. Barranco shares that, even though she’s feeling anxious, she still loves and accepts herself. Follow along as Dr. Barranco completes two EFT sequences.
After completing as many sequences as you would like, rate your intensity level on a scale from 0 to 10 again and compare results with your initial intensity level.
