The Quiet Work Space

The Quiet Work Space Is a safe space for processing trauma, grief and transitions. Through presence and reflection we walk the quiet path of healing - slowly, gently, truthfully.

You don't have to rush. Just pull up a chair.

Healing from narcissistic abuse is the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. It’s been 17 yrs and there are still days where it feels like just yesterday.

The uncertainty of his mood and walking on egg shells. The constant lies, couldn’t hold a job or maintain a car unless he bought it with his money.

The isolation from my family and friends because i was made to feel responsible for his every need and he’d undermine the time i had with them with his own needs.

Just recently i heard it plain. “What was it you were so addicted to?” The question that cracked me open. I’d never been asked that. “What was it within me that felt deserving of this behavior?” Talk about a crack open my soul moment.

It’s true though. If i were as in love with myself as i thought i was with him, i never would’ve overlooked myself and the things that made me feel safe.

For me, Radical acceptance has been the key to moving through the hardest parts. It gave me the understanding i needed to free myself of the guilt and shame i carried for putting myself and my family through this.

Grieving has no timeline nor is it linear. There are days when i grieve the loss of hope, the loss of the family i thought i was growing.

Forgiveness for yourself and staying in a situationship with a narcissist is the biggest act of self love.

For me it was my addiction to hope that kept me there. It was the addiction built by the intermittent reinforcement that feed my dopamine that had me dismissing my own needs just to stay. Until the day that i just couldn’t continue.

If this resonates, i see you. You do not have to go through this alone.

When you work to discredit or dismiss another person's truth to make yourself feel more comfortable, you are showing your own conditioning for abuse, that your own ego feels threatened by exposure, and you lack the ability to be held accountable for anything because you still feel like a victim.

Sometimes the loudest, and most aggressive voices in the room, are the most damaged just trying to feel safe. That damage has two faces — one that turns inward toward healing, and one that turns outward toward others.

Survivors are active participants in their own recovery. They show up for themselves in every way necessary for them to heal.

Victims are actively just trying to survive and need a first responder.

When you see the difference between those two states of being you have the choice.

Will you stay the victim who works to discredit and dismiss others' pain, or, will you show up for yourself, and be an active participant in your own rescue?

And when you see someone showing you their triggers, will you dismiss them — or will you be their first responder?

Just created a play list on Spotify of some songs I tend to listen to while I'm working.

This goes out to all the single people out there trying to hold down life while also taking care of a parent in their homes. If no one has told you lately, you're doing an amazing job. Not all heroes wear capes, but they do need support. What do you need?

Let’s talk about it.

I was asked for advice on how to find a spiritual community to heal in.

I’ve had experience with this and here are my top 4 things when searching for your spiritual home.

1. DO YOUR RESEARCH

Check out all the sites and videos. Make sure their messaging resonates and you have a full understanding of what they are about.

2. TAKE YOUR TIME

Do rush right into it because of that one video that really hit you deep. People change over time, make sure you’re aware of the direction they are traveling in.

3. LISTEN WHEN THEY TELL YOU ABOUT THEMSELVES

People will tell you about themselves, especially someone who seeks to manipulate because that is the truthful exposure they can later reference that clears all responsibility for you getting hurt.

4. USE YOUR DISCERNMENT

At the first sign of a red flag, leave. A broken clock is correct twice a day but that font mean you must sit in all that’s wrong just to gain two truths.

You are your most precious possession. Make sure whomever you give your time, your energy and your money to is worthy of it and has your best interest at heart.

To me, a flex is not a fat bank account. It’s the number of genuine HEALTHY connections you create and foster.

Do you ever feel like your personal experiences could help someone else but don’t have a space to talk about it?

Would you want to join a pod cast to talk about the event that changed the course of your life and how you got through it?

I’m building a podcast space where we talk about what happened, what you did to get through it and what you believe is the underlying lesson.

We’re not experts just real people having conversations about real experiences with the innerstanding that it takes a community to heal.

We’ll talk about what it took to change and heal on any topic.

Let’s talk about trauma, abandonment, relationships, narcissistic abuse, loss and grief

“Our best teachers are those who can shine a light on the path and explain how to read it, not just guide the way.” -TQWS

If you feel called to tell your story please reach out, send me a dm or comment here and I’ll reach out to you. Let’s talk about it.
