Two weeks ago, on April 25th, we celebrated our 16th Annual Pass the Hat—an event that felt especially meaningful this year. We were proud to honor former Benedictine head coach Sean Ryan, who helped bring this tradition to life alongside St. Chris coach Tony Szymendera, and thrilled to welcome Benedictine Coach Brian into this long-standing tradition.
This year, we strengthened our commitment to community by welcoming teams from Glen Allen High School and Miles H. Godwin High School. A special shoutout to all of the baseball teams for their commitment, passion, and for truly embracing the mission and meaning behind Pass the Hat. With the incredible support of our families and partners at St. Chris, Benedictine, Godwin, and Glen Allen, we proudly surpassed our goal—raising $16,000 through our Pass the Hat tradition.
A heartfelt thank you to the fans who showed up in full support and put dollars in the bucket—your generosity helped us meet and exceed our goal. We are equally grateful to our dedicated volunteers and board members, whose time, energy, and belief in our mission continue to drive everything we do. We’re also thankful to Green Graphic Design for donating our beautiful new Pass the Hat sign! Another huge thank you goes to Henrico Recreation & Parks for hosting another fantastic game and Glen Allen Youth Association for holding concessions! ⚾️🧢👏
