The enemy rarely starts with destruction.
He starts with deception.

ā€œYou’re fine.
It’s not that bad.
You can stop anytime.
One more time won’t hurt.

And little by little, what once felt like a choice becomes a chain. šŸ”—

Not every struggle means you don’t love God…

Some people genuinely repent, cry out to God, hate the sin… and still fall back into the cycle. That’s why condemnation is not from God. Conviction leads you back to Him. Condemnation drives you away from Him.

The cycle often looks more like this:

Temptation → Sin → Temporary Relief → Guilt → Repentance → Promises to Change → Temptation Again

That’s why Scripture says:
ā€˜I will not be dominated by anything.’ — 1 Corinthians 6:12

Whether it’s smoking, va**ng, w**d, p**n, alcohol, lust, gossip, rage, validation, or any other bondage… sin always overpromises and underdelivers. (Read that last line again)

But freedom is possible.

Not just behavior modification.
Transformation.

Jesus didn’t die just to forgive you.
He died to free you. ā›“ļøā€šŸ’„

Loneliness does not discriminate.
It reaches the wealthy and the poor. The popular and the forgotten. The strong and the struggling. As Billy Graham once said:

ā€œLoneliness is no respecter of persons. It invades the palace as well as the hut.ā€

We live in a world that is more connected digitally than ever before… yet many people feel deeply disconnected spiritually and emotionally.

That’s why relationships matter.

Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 says:

ā€œTwo are better than one… If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.ā€

As believers, sometimes we create ā€œholy huddles.ā€
We surround ourselves only with people who think like us, believe like us, and live like us. But when you look at the life of Jesus Christ, He was constantly around broken people.

He was called a friend of sinners.

Not because He participated in sin.
Not because He compromised truth.
But because He loved people enough to step into their lives and show them something greater.

Jesus didn’t isolate Himself from hurting people. He ministered to them. He listened. He cared. He loved. And His life reflected the goodness of God in a way that drew people toward truth.

As Christians, we are called to love people without becoming consumed by the world around us.

Because influence goes both ways.

Scripture warns us that bad company corrupts good morals. Have you ever noticed how easy it is to begin complaining around complainers? Gossiping around gossipers? Becoming angry around angry people?

We must love people deeply… but also walk wisely.

We are not called to become isolated from the world.
We are called to be light in it.

So yes, befriend people who don’t know Christ. Pray for them. Love them genuinely. Be present. Show compassion. But stay rooted in truth and led by the Holy Spirit.

Jesus was never afraid to sit with sinners.
But He never became like the world to reach it either.

As someone who has walked through deep grief, I understand the longing to feel close to the people we’ve lost. Grief makes you vulnerable to anything that promises comfort, connection, or one more conversation.

But Scripture is very clear about this.

God does not forbid mediums, spiritists, divination, and attempts to contact the dead because He is cruel… He forbids them because they are dangerous.

The enemy has always counterfeited what is holy.

Not every spiritual experience is from God simply because it feels emotional, comforting, or supernatural. The Bible warns repeatedly against seeking spiritual guidance outside of Him.

Deuteronomy 18:10–13 doesn’t whisper about this issue. It speaks strongly because God wants His people protected.

And I say this with compassion, not condemnation:
If you are grieving someone you love, run to God with your pain. Talk to Him. Cry to Him. Sit with Him. Ask Him for comfort, peace, dreams, memories, healing… but do not open doors Scripture says not to open.

The goal of the enemy has always been deception.

Jesus said:
ā€œMy sheep hear My voice.ā€
Not the voice of familiar spirits.
Not mediums.
Not the dead.

There is comfort in Christ even in grief.
There is peace in staying within His covering.

And for those grieving… I know this topic can hurt. I know the ache of wanting one more moment with someone you love. This is not written from a place of superiority. It’s written from a place of loss, conviction, and love. ā¤ļø

God is not wasting any part of your story.

Not the pain.
Not the waiting.
Not the confusion.
Not the parts you still don’t understand.
Not even your mistakes.

Your story AND your future story of what He’s brought you out of is beautiful & nourishing to souls.

Romans 8 reminds us that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

That doesn’t mean all things are good.

It means God is good enough to redeem all things.

He is shaping us, refining us, and conforming us into the image of Christ.

Even here.
Even now. 🫶

Did you know that there are more breeds of chickens than there are dogs? And dogs are 99.9% Wolf in their DNA? I ļæ¼ wonder what the first chicken breed was and how much of a percentage of DNA is from that chicken breed in all the chickens? Is this something people know or do we have to wait until we get to Heaven?

At the end of day 2 of what was supposed to be a 72-hour fast, I ended up eating leftover charcuterie from the big one I made for my work party.

I made a cute little tray and wanted a little bit of all the things… which turned into a lot for one person. I knew while I was making it there was no way I’d eat it all—but I wanted it all on the tray to look at. To enjoy visually.

I almost posted it like, ā€œThis would feed 2–3 people in Europe, but thank God I live in America so I can have it all to myself.ā€ šŸ˜…

And then it hit me…

That’s actually the problem.

We are such a gluttonous nation. It’s sad. And honestly… I was a little disgusted with myself.

One of the things I’ve been fasting about is asking God to break me of my need to shop and buy things. After my husband died, I dove into retail therapy and stayed there for almost 10 years.

I live alone in a 2300 sq ft house… full of stuff. Every room. So many clothes, shoes, bags… everything. More than I could even use in a year.

And every year?
Bag after bag after bag goes to Goodwill.
Because I keep buying more.

We live in a buy-and-discard society.
Have. Have. Have more.

It’s disgusting.

And God calls it what it is—gluttony.

We need to break this off and turn from our wicked ways.

It’s diabolical. Demonic.

Break up with it in the name of Jesus.

I am. I do. I claim freedom from gluttony in my life, in the name of Jesus, covered by the blood of the Lamb.

Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for my freedom.

That charcuterie board was the perfect example.
Wanting a little of everything… and ending up with more than I needed.

It was never about food.
It was about excess.

(Now… what the heck am I gonna do with all this sh*t in my house? Garage sale? šŸ˜…)

āŒ›ļøJanuary doesn't need a louder version of you. It needs a truer one.

The version who stopped negotiating with burnout.

The one who no longer confuses survival with strength.

The woman who realized that white-knuckling life was never the assignment.

This year isn't about becoming someone new. It's about recovering what was buried under grief, pressure, shame, and noise.

I've learned this the long way:
šŸ“You don't heal by force.
šŸ“You don't grow by self-punishment.
šŸ“And you don't move forward by dragging old identities into a new season.

You move forward by telling the truth-first to yourself.

So if this year feels quieter...If your goals feel more intentional than impressive...if you're craving depth over dopamine...

You're not behind.
You're finally aligned.

I'm walking into this year lighter. Clearer. More honest about what I will and will not carry anymore.

If you're doing the same--WELCOME.
This year isn't loud.
But it will be powerful. 🌟
