Park in Arroyo City, TX that benefit the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association. Our 2nd Annual "Summer Classic" tournament will once again benefit the* Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association. The "Second Classic" will be the first tournament in a two-part grand slam champion event that will highlight the best saltwater anglers in South Texas. (An Ultimate Grand Champion will be determined by the
overall weight in both the "Summer" and "Winter" classics)
Prize money and trophies for the "Summer Classic" will be handed out to the top three fish in each species (redfish, trout, flounder) and will include a tournament "Grand Champion", which will be determined by the combined weight of a boat's biggest fish in each division. Registration is $180 per boat (4 people max) and can be completed over the phone or online. A "Captain's meeting" will be held on February 21, 2012 on The Patio of La Botana Restaurant (1621 Harrison Ave in Harlingen, TX). *The Association will receive a percentage based on the amount of sponsorships and entry fees accumulated and will be guaranteed twenty percent of ALL proceeds with the other eighty percent put back into the tournament.
