We had our very first She Rises Collective member meeting!

And honestly… this is just the beginning.

We finally got to put faces to the names we’ve been seeing in our member chat and, more importantly, get to know the incredible women behind these businesses.

We made vision boards, celebrated wins, talked about some of the hard parts of running a business, and shared the things that don’t always make it onto social media.

But perhaps the most important thing we walked away with was connection.

The reminder that we are not doing this alone.

There are women sitting at the same table who understand the late nights, the big decisions, the uncertainty, the victories, and everything in between.

We also made plans for our next outreach day at Crossroads for Women on September 12th.

And this month, we’re collecting NEW women’s undergarments for the women at the shelter.

If you’d like to donate, let us know and we’ll be happy to schedule a drop-off. You can also drop donations at:

📍 Salt & Light Christian Counseling
📍 Elite Physique Gym

This is what we envisioned when we created She Rises Collective.

A network of strong, powerful women who support one another, build one another up, give back to their community, and make a real difference in the lives of women around them.

This is the launch of something special.

And we’re just getting started.

I want to tell you about a woman I’ve seen over and over again in this work,
Not one specific client.
A composite of so many women I’ve talked to over the years.

Women who have spent 20... 30... sometimes more years trying to lose weight and feel comfortable in their bodies.

Think about that.

Decades of stepping on the scale and letting that number decide whether it was going to be a good day.

Decades of diets
Low fat
Low carb
Calories
Points
Meal replacements
Clean eating

Decades of standing in front of a closet thinking nothing looks good on me.

Looking at pictures and immediately noticing the stomach, the arms, the weight gain.

Decades of saying I shouldn't eat that,
And promising Monday will be different.
And every time it didn't work...
She blamed herself.

So she tried harder.
Eat less
Exercise more
Cut another food
Add another workout
Start again
Lose some weight
Gain it back
Start again

But here's what I want you to know...
She wasn't weak
She wasn't lazy
She wasn't lacking discipline
She was actually incredibly disciplined.

She was just using a system that taught her the harder she restricted and punished herself, the better her results would be.

And when that stopped working?
She assumed something was wrong with her.

I hear this all the time:
I don't trust my body anymore
Nothing works for me
Maybe this is just what happens when you get older.

And every time I hear it, I want to do what I wish someone had done for these women sooner.
Take the blame off her.

Then ask better questions.
What's happening with her hormones?
Her gut?
Her thyroid?
Her stress?
Her sleep?
Her metabolism?
Her nutrition?
Her history?
Because your body isn't a calculator.

And you aren't a problem that needs to be punished into submission.
You are not your past attempts
You are not the weight you've gained
You are not the number on the scale
You are not broken

You were using an approach that wasn't designed around YOUR body, your physiology, or your life.

And then you were taught to blame yourself when it didn't work.

You can put that down.
You really can.

And please don't spend another decade fighting your body.

The woman who feels strong, energized, confident and at home in her body isn't necessarily years away.

It can start with understanding what's actually happening now.

How do you actually feel in your body right now?

Not how you wish you felt
Not how you think you should feel
How you actually feel.

One word.

Maybe it’s...

Exhausted
Frustrated
Stuck
Inflamed
Uncomfortable
Invisible
Overwhelmed
Discouraged
Anxious
Defeated

Maybe it’s:

Done.

Done with dieting
Done with starting over
Done with being told everything is normal when you know you don’t feel normal
Done with working harder and watching your body move in the wrong direction

Or maybe underneath all of that...

Hopeful..
Maybe you still believe you can feel like yourself again
Maybe you know your body isn't broken
Maybe you're just tired of trying to figure it out alone

Whatever the word is...
I want to hear it

No explanation needed
No backstory
No justification

Just one word,
Drop it in the comments or send me a DM

Because sometimes that one word tells me more about where you are right now than a whole paragraph ever could

So...
How do you feel in your body right now?

Drop your one word below in the comments.

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

Matleena sent me an update on Karen this week and I had to share it.

Because Karen is the kind of woman I see all the time,
She was doing EVERYTHING

Working out almost every day
Pushing hard with cardio
Eating as little as she thought she could
Trying to be "good" all week

And despite all that effort...
She was gaining weight.

Exhausted
Sleeping poorly
Frustrated
And convinced the answer was MORE.

More cardio
Less food
More discipline
More restriction

But instead of giving her another diet, we asked a different question:
Why isn't her body responding?

We started with the foundation,

Nutrition
Training
Recovery
Stress
Sleep
Symptoms
And functional testing

Because sometimes a woman doesn't need more pressure,
She needs support.

Karen was nervous about eating more
She wasn't sure she could trust doing less cardio.

And honestly...
I understood.

When you've spent years being told that weight loss means eating less and exercising more, doing the opposite can feel terrifying.

But she trusted the process :-)

We focused on adequate nutrition, protein, strength training, recovery, sleep and addressing the areas that needed attention.

And slowly...
Things started changing.

Her energy improved
Her sleep improved
Her workouts felt better
She stopped obsessing over food.

And eventually, her body started responding differently too.

But my favorite transformation?
Karen stopped being afraid of her own body.

She stopped assuming every fluctuation meant she was failing,
She started learning what her body actually needed

And THAT is what I want for every woman I coach.

Not another diet
Not another cycle of restriction and punishment
Not another Monday morning starting over.

I want women to understand their bodies
To know what they need
To build strength
To nourish themselves
To honor the need for recovery

And to finally learn how to work with their bodies instead of constantly fighting them.

Karen didn't find a magic fat-loss hack,
She stopped punishing her body and started supporting it.

That's the difference.

If you're working harder than ever and getting worse results...
Maybe the answer isn't to work harder.

Maybe it's time to ask:
Why isn't my body responding

That's where we start inside EmpowerHER.

Your scale doesn't know what's happening inside your body.

It gives you one number,
That's it.

But that number includes:

Muscle
Fat
Water
Glycogen
Food in your digestive tract
Sodium
Inflammation
Hormonal fluctuations
Changes from stress and sleep

And somehow we've given that one number the power to decide whether we have a good day or a bad one.

You can eat well all week.
Hit your protein
Strength train
Sleep
Drink your water
Get your steps in

And the scale goes UP.

Does that automatically mean you gained body fat?
No.

You could be retaining water, repairing muscle, dealing with hormonal fluctuations, or simply carrying more food volume.

The scale can't tell you which.
And the opposite is true.

You can have a terrible week...
Eat very little
Skip meals
Do extra cardio
Sleep poorly
And the scale goes DOWN.

You think you won,
But did you actually improve your body?

Or did you simply lose water, glycogen and food volume?

This is why I don't want women chasing a smaller number,
I want you chasing a healthier, stronger body.

Pay attention to:
How your clothes fit
Your measurements
Your strength
Your energy
Your sleep
Your digestion
Your recovery
Your progress photos

Because sometimes the scale barely moves while your body is changing dramatically.

I've seen clients become stronger, sleep better, have more energy, improve their digestion and change their body composition while the scale moves very slowly.

If they had trusted the scale alone...
They might have quit while they were actually making progress.

So please...
Stop letting one number determine your worth or your progress.

The scale is a data point,
It is not the verdict

And if that number can completely ruin your day, it may be time to stop giving an inanimate object that much power.

Your body is giving you a LOT more information than the scale ever could.

Most weight-loss programs start in the same place

Eat less
Move more
Track everything
Try to be "good"

And if the scale doesn't move?
Eat less
Add more cardio
Push harder

But what happens when you've already been doing that?
You're exhausted
You're hungry
You're frustrated
And somehow... you're still not getting the results you want

Then you blame yourself,
Maybe I'm not disciplined enough
Maybe I'm not trying hard enough
Maybe this is just what happens as I get older

But what if you don't need more pressure?

What if your body needs a different starting point?

That's why EmpowerHER has 3 phases:

PHASE 1 = RESTORE
We don't start by aggressively pursuing fat loss,
We restore the foundation first.
Nutrition
Protein
Gut health
Sleep
Stress
Training and recovery
Hormones
Thyroid function
And functional testing when appropriate
If your metabolism is dysfunctional, your body needs support before we ask it to perform.

We nourish it
We support recovery
We address digestive and gut issues
We identify nutrient deficiencies and other factors that may be interfering with healthy function

We restore.

PHASE 2 = RESPOND
Once your foundation is functioning better, we can ask your body to change.

We strategically adjust nutrition
Progress your strength training
Support hormones when appropriate
Address the issues identified through your assessment.

And yes...
This is where fat loss becomes the goal
But we're not starving you into it
We're creating the conditions for your body to respond.

PHASE 3 = INTEGRATE

This is the part most programs skip.
You lost the weight
Now what?
We teach you how to maintain what you've built
How much food works for YOUR body
How to train without destroying yourself
How to recognize when something is off
How to live your life without constantly feeling like you're on a diet

Because the goal isn't temporary weight loss,
It's building a body you understand and a strategy you can actually live with.

You don't need another program telling you to try harder
You need to understand why your body isn't responding and address what is actually getting in the way.

That's what we do inside EmpowerHER.

❤️ If you're tired of trying harder and getting nowhere, comment READY or send me a DM.

08/26/2026

What's the thing you're most scared to admit out loud?

About your body
Your health
Your hormones
The way you've been feeling lately.

Maybe it's...
I'm terrified I'll never lose this weight
I don't trust my body anymore
I'm scared this is just what getting older feels like
Something feels wrong, but nobody can tell me what
I'm exhausted from constantly trying to fix myself
I'm afraid I'll lose the weight and gain it all back
I'm scared I'll never feel like myself again

Or maybe it's something even harder to say...
I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this.

If that's you...
I want you to know you're not alone.

And you don't have to minimize what you're experiencing because someone told you your labs are "normal."

Sometimes the first step isn't another diet
Another workout
Another supplement
Another protocol

Sometimes it's simply admitting...
Something isn't right, and I need help figuring out why.

That's exactly why I take a functional approach.

We don't look at one symptom in isolation,
We look at the whole woman.

Your nutrition
Your gut
Your hormones
Your thyroid
Your stress
Your metabolism
Your lifestyle

Because you're not a collection of disconnected symptoms,
Everything is connected.

So tell me...
What's the thing you're afraid to say out loud?

You can comment below or send me a DM.
No judgment
No shame
Just honesty

And if it's something outside the scope of coaching, I'll tell you that too.

Sometimes getting better starts with simply telling the truth about how you're feeling.

08/25/2026

I’ve earned the right to lose weight eating 2,000 calories.

I knew I could get here someday,
I just had to be willing to spend the time it took to rebuild my body.

I spent decades under-eating.

In my 20s and early 30s, if I wanted to lose weight, I'd slash my calories to 900… maybe 1,000 if I felt generous.

I thought 2,000 calories was SO high.

But here's what I've learned:

You can't take a woman who has under-eaten for most of her adult life and expect her to jump straight into a successful fat-loss phase.

Sometimes the first step isn't eating less,
It's eating enough.

And not for a few weeks,
For long enough to give your body a chance to recover, build muscle, improve recovery, support hormone function and rebuild metabolic capacity.

Did I gain weight during some of those seasons?
Sure.

Did I lose my value because the scale went up?
Absolutely not.

Did my health improve?
100%.

Did I learn more about balance, patience and realistic expectations?
Absolutely.

And eventually…
I got to a place where I can now lose fat eating around 2,000 calories.

That didn't happen overnight,
It happened because I stopped making the scale the only measure of progress.

And this is the part I wish more women understood:
Sometimes getting to your goal requires doing things that feel completely opposite of your goal.

You may need to eat MORE when you want to weigh less,
You may need to take a break from dieting when you're desperate to lose weight
You may need to lift weights instead of doing more cardio
You may need to rest when your instinct is to push harder
You may even need to accept a temporary increase on the scale while you work on becoming healthier.

That's uncomfortable.
And that's exactly why having someone beside you who understands the process can be invaluable.

Because when you're doing something that feels opposite to what you've been taught…

You need someone who can look at the bigger picture and remind you:

You're not going backwards
You're building the foundation that makes going forward possible.

That's the kind of coaching I believe in.

Not helping women become better at dieting,
Helping them become healthier women who can eventually diet without destroying everything they've worked so hard to build.

Fat loss is a phase.
Metabolic health is the goal.

Our EmpowerHER family is making a difference !!!

I want to take a moment to give a HUGE shoutout to our EmpowerHER family.👏👏👏

Many of you have seen me sharing about the work I've been doing with Crossroads for Women in Albuquerque, and I want you to know that this isn't something I'm doing alone.

Our community has stepped up in such a beautiful way.

Thank you to everyone who has donated personal care and feminine hygiene products for the women at Crossroads.

And thank you to our EmpowerHER family for raising over $1,000 to support the women at Crossroads! 🙏🙏🙏

I am incredibly grateful for every single person who contributed, donated, volunteered, or simply helped spread the word.

This past weekend, I also had the opportunity to spend time volunteering at Crossroads alongside members of She Rises Collective, a community of strong, women-owned businesses committed to making a difference in our community.

I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who joined me.

And this is just the beginning.....

Through my partnership with She Rises Collective, we'll have the opportunity to continue supporting Crossroads through ongoing outreach and volunteer work.

We'll be volunteering one Saturday each month, and I'd love to have members of our EmpowerHER family join us.

Because wellness isn't just about what we do for ourselves,
It's also about how we show up for other women.

It's about community
It's about giving when we can

It's about reminding women who are going through difficult seasons that they are not forgotten.

And I'm incredibly proud to be part of a community that believes in that.

If you'd like to join me for an upcoming volunteer day, comment below or send me a DM and I'll get you the details.

Thank you for helping me make EmpowerHER about more than just health and fitness.

We're building a community of women who empower women.
