After doing this for awhile, I have learned something about fall that I wish more people knew going in.

The people who struggle during AEP are almost never the ones who made a bad decision. They are the ones who ran out of time to make a good one.

Here is what fall actually looks like from where I sit.

October 15th arrives and suddenly everyone is paying attention at the same time. Phones are ringing. Inboxes are full. Agents are busy. And the people who waited until the last minute to start thinking about their coverage are now trying to make important decisions in a hurry with a deadline that does not move.

Meanwhile the people who started paying attention in August and September? They walk into October already knowing what they have, what has changed, and what they want to do about it. The conversation is easy. The decision feels right. And December 7th comes and goes without any stress.

September is coming. And I am going to spend the entire month making sure you are ready before the window opens.

Stay tuned. This is about to get really good!

You know someone who is going to wake up in October completely unprepared for the annual enrollment period for Medicare.

Maybe they mentioned their Medicare bill went up and they do not know why. Maybe they have been on the same plan for years and have never once reviewed it. Maybe they just turned 65 and have no idea what is coming.

Tag the friend who keeps putting this off. Tag the parent who says they will figure it out later. Tag the neighbor who asked you about Medicare at the last block party and never got a real answer.

Let them know there is someone they can call who will actually take the time to walk them through it. No pressure. No pitch. Just a real conversation before the window opens.

That is what I am here for and October is closer than it feels!

Tag them below. It might be the most helpful thing you do for them today!

Fall means a lot of things. Football. Cooler mornings. Pumpkin everything.

And if you are on Medicare, it means one more thing. The Annual Enrollment Period opens October 15th and runs through December 7th.

Here is what that actually means in plain English.

AEP is the one time of year when most people on Medicare can review their current coverage and make changes if something is not working. New plan. Different drug coverage. A switch from Medicare Advantage to Original Medicare or vice versa. Whatever makes the most sense for where your life is right now.

You are not required to make changes. But you are required to miss the window if you do not pay attention.

Here is what I want you to do before October gets here:

📋 Pull out your current plan information and know what you have.
📋 Think about whether anything has changed this year. Health. Medications. Doctors. Budget.
📋 Reach out to me so we can have a real conversation before the deadline is breathing down your neck.

September is next. And I have a lot to share before the window opens!

Drop a question in the comments or send me a DM. Let's get you ready!

Here is the myth I run into more than almost any other. 😬

People think asking for help with Medicare means they are going to get sold something.

So they Google instead. They ask their neighbor who heard something from someone who maybe knew an agent once. They piece together information from five different websites that all say something slightly different. And they make a decision that follows them for a long time hoping they got it right.

And the whole time there was someone they could have just called.

Here is what I want you to know about working with a Medicare agent.

It does not cost you anything. Medicare agents are compensated by the carriers, not by you. There is no bill at the end of the conversation.

It does not obligate you to anything. Asking questions is just asking questions. Nobody is going to pressure you into a decision you are not ready to make, especially when you are sitting in front of a Medicare professional

It does not have to wait until October. The best Medicare conversations happen before everything feels urgent. Like right now. In August. When there is actually time to think.

You do not have to figure this out alone. That is literally what I am here for!

What is one Medicare question you have been sitting on? Drop it below or send me a DM. No pitch. Just answers!

October is closer than it feels.

And every year around this time I start making sure the people in my community have what they need before AEP gets loud and decisions start feeling rushed.

So I am dropping this again because it is genuinely more relevant right now than it was a month ago.

It is a free guide with all the questions worth asking your Medicare agent before you make any decisions about your coverage. The questions that reveal gaps. The questions that start real conversations. The questions most people never think to ask until something has already gone wrong.

AEP is coming. The people who feel calm and prepared when it gets here are the ones who started paying attention in August.

That can be you.

Drop QUESTIONS in the comments (or send me a DM!) and I will send it straight to you!

The name says it all really.

Medigap. As in the gap that Medicare leaves behind.

Original Medicare is incredibly valuable. But it was never designed to cover everything. There is the 20% that you owe after Medicare pays its share. There are deductibles. There are costs that add up fast if something serious happens. And unlike most insurance, Original Medicare has no out of pocket maximum to protect you.

That gap is real. And supplemental coverage exists specifically to fill it.

Here is the simple version of how it works. ⬇️

A Medigap plan , also called Medicare Supplement plan, is a separate policy that works alongside Original Medicare. It helps cover some or all of the costs that Medicare does not pay. Depending on the plan you choose, that can mean significantly less coming out of your pocket when you actually need care.

If you have Original Medicare and you have ever gotten a bill that surprised you, this is the conversation worth having before AEP gets here.

Send me a DM or drop a question in the comments. I love this one!

Every August I find myself saying some version of the same thing.

💬 Don't wait until October to start thinking about this.

Not because October is too late. But because October is loud. Everyone is suddenly paying attention, agents are busy, and decisions that deserve real thought end up getting made in a hurry because the deadline is right there.

August is quiet. August is when you can actually think.

So here is what I tell every client this time of year:

👉 Look at what you have. Know your plan name, your doctors, your prescriptions, and your costs. Not because something is wrong. Just because knowing where you stand is always better than finding out when something is already happening.

👉 Think about what has changed. New doctor. New medication. Different health needs. A move. Any of these things could mean your current plan is not the best fit anymore and AEP is your chance to fix that.

Talk to me before October. Not in a panic. Just a conversation. The kind that is so much easier to have right now than in the middle of enrollment season.

That is it. That is what I tell people every single year. And the ones who listen always thank me later!

Drop a question in the comments or send me a DM. I would love to have that conversation with you before fall gets here!

October has a way of sneaking up on people. One day it is still summer and the next day everyone is suddenly talking about AEP and making big decisions under pressure with a deadline breathing down their neck.

So let me tell you right now what is so much easier to do in August than in October.

Pull out your current plan information and look up three things:

1️⃣ Your plan name and plan ID number. You would be surprised how many people do not know this off the top of their head and need it the moment something comes up.

2️⃣ Your current prescriptions and what tier they sit on under your plan. Formularies change every year and knowing where you stand now means no surprises later.

3️⃣Your doctors. Are they still in network? Still accepting patients? A quick call to their office takes five minutes and saves a lot of stress later.

That is it. Three things. Fifteen minutes. And you will walk into AEP feeling like a completely different person than the one who waited until October 14th to start thinking about it.

If you want help knowing what to look for, drop QUESTIONS in the comments and I will send you the free guide!

Let me save you a Google.

Every single day people search some version of "does Medicare cover dental" or "does Medicare pay for glasses" or "what about hearing aids." So let me just answer it right here.

Original Medicare: mostly no.

Routine dental care, vision exams, glasses, and hearing aids are not covered under Original Medicare. It is one of the most surprising things people find out after they enroll.

But here is where it gets more interesting.

Some Medicare Advantage plans do include dental, vision, and hearing benefits. The coverage varies a lot from plan to plan and from area to area, which is why what your neighbor has may look completely different from what is available to you.

There are also standalone dental and vision plans worth looking at depending on your situation.

This is one of the first things I walk through with every new client because finding out your teeth are not covered after the fact is not a fun conversation.

The good news is that options exist. You just have to know where to look and that is exactly what I help people figure out!

What's one thing about Medicare coverage that surprised you when you found out? Drop it below!

After doing this for awhile, I have noticed something.

The clients who walk into AEP feeling calm and confident are almost always the ones who started asking questions before October. Not during. Before.

Here are the questions I wish more people asked me this time of year:
☀️ Has anything changed with my health or my medications since I last reviewed my plan?
☀️ Are my doctors still in-network and are they accepting new patients if I ever needed to switch?
☀️ Do I actually know what my plan costs me out of pocket if something serious happens?
☀️ Is there anything about my current plan I should know before the Annual Enrollment Period starts?
☀️ Am I using all of the benefits my plan includes or am I leaving something on the table?

These are not complicated questions. But the answers can change everything about how prepared you feel when October gets here.

I put together a free guide with even more questions worth asking before you make any decisions about your coverage. Drop QUESTIONS in the comments and I will send it right over!
