An unpredictable period. Acne that won’t clear. Changes in hair growth. Trouble getting pregnant.

Individually, these symptoms may seem unrelated. Together, they can sometimes be signs of PCOS, recently renamed polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, or PMOS.

PCOS/PMOS can affect reproductive, hormonal, and metabolic health, and symptoms can look different from person to person.

If you’ve noticed changes that don’t feel normal for you, start the conversation with your OB-GYN.

Pregnancy comes with constant changes, and it is not always easy to decide whether a symptom is expected.

A mild symptom that resolves may be common. A sudden, severe, persistent, or noticeably different symptom deserves attention. Bleeding, leaking fluid, significantly decreased movement from baby, severe headache, vision changes, chest pain, or difficulty breathing should be reported promptly.

Your obstetric team would rather hear from you and help determine the next step than have you ignore something that concerns you.

Questions about medications, exercise, travel, nutrition, fetal movement, and unfamiliar symptoms are a normal part of prenatal care. Recommendations can also change depending on your trimester, medical history, and how your pregnancy is progressing.

Save your questions in your phone as they come up and bring them to your next visit. When something feels concerning, contact your care team rather than waiting for your next appointment.

Heavy periods are common, but they should not control your life.

If you find yourself planning your day around your period, changing pads or tampons more often than usual, passing large clots, feeling exhausted from blood loss, or avoiding activities because of your flow, it may be time to talk with your OB-GYN.

Heavy bleeding can have many causes, including uterine fibroids. Fibroids are common, noncancerous growths that can lead to heavier or longer periods, pelvic pressure, bloating, and pain.

You do not have to “just live with it.” Your provider can help identify what is causing your symptoms and walk you through care options based on your health history, symptoms, and goals.

If your period is disrupting your life, schedule an appointment and get the answers you deserve.

There are many myths about fibroids, and misinformation can make it harder to know when to seek care.

The truth is, fibroids can look different for every woman. Some cause no symptoms at all, while others may lead to heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure, bloating, pain, or changes that affect daily life.

Not every fibroid needs surgery, and treatment depends on your symptoms, health history, fibroid size and location, and personal goals.

If heavy bleeding or pelvic symptoms are interfering with your life, don’t ignore them. Your OB-GYN can help you understand what’s going on and what options may be right for you.

Heavy periods, pelvic pressure, bloating, frequent urination, or pain during s*x are symptoms many women try to push through but they may be signs of uterine fibroids.

Fibroids are common, noncancerous growths that can develop in or around the uterus. Some women have no symptoms, while others experience changes that affect their daily life, comfort, and energy.

If your period feels harder to manage than usual or pelvic symptoms are interfering with your routine, it may be time to talk with your OB-GYN.

You deserve answers, support, and a care plan that fits your needs.

July is Fibroid Awareness Month with an important reminder that heavy periods, pelvic pressure, bloating, and pelvic pain should not be ignored.

Uterine fibroids are common, noncancerous growths that develop in or around the uterus. Some women may have no symptoms, while others may experience bleeding, pressure, discomfort, or symptoms that affect daily life.

The good news: treatment is not one-size-fits-all. Depending on your symptoms, health history, and future goals, your OB-GYN can help you understand your options and create a care plan that works for you.

If your period is disrupting your life or something feels off, schedule an appointment with your provider to get answers.

Your body has ways of getting your attention.

Burning, itching, odor, unusual discharge, pelvic pain, pain during s*x, or frequent urination may not always mean something serious — but they should not be ignored.

UTI symptoms can include pain or burning with urination, frequent urination, urgency, bloody urine, or pressure in the lower abdomen. Symptoms like fever, chills, lower back pain, nausea, or vomiting may point to a more serious infection and should be addressed promptly.

If something feels different for your body, your OB-GYN is here to help you get answers.
