On Tuesday, June 4th I officially received my best friends kidney! Everything has been going pretty great since the surgery! I am so thankful to have such an incredible friend in my life. I love you D!

An update on kidney donation. My sister is still in the midst of evaluation but due to some unforeseen circumstances there is a delay in her eval and we are not sure if she will be able to donate.

If you or someone you know is interested in donating please call the Strong Kidney Donation line at 585-275-7753 (press 1). They will ask for my full name and birthdate (11/21/1987)

You do not have to be a match to donate with the kidney exchange program!

For the last 4-5 weeks my mom and I have been training in center for home hemodialysis. Yesterday was our first treatment from home! We are doing this at my moms house since she has extra space. Although everything is not smooth sailing yet, we are learning more each treatment.

A big thank you to my mom for taking time off of work and being my care partner through this process❤️

Hi everyone it’s Allie. You guys are unbelievable and so freaking amazing! Thank you everyone who has liked, shared and donated! I am blown away by all the support!

A little bit about what is going on right now. I am going to hemodialysis 5 days a week right now. My mom and I will be training to do home dialysis. My moms house is set up a little better to be able to do it comfortably so right now our plan is to do it at her house, I will do it 4-5 days a week for 2-4 hours. We are not sure on the details yet. Training will take 4-5 weeks in center. My sister needs to get blood work for donor evaluation. She has been trying for a couple weeks but unfortunately Covid keeps hitting her household. We’re hoping she can soon.

Blake and Scotty are doing well! Blake is going to school 3 days a week and my amazing in laws are taking care of him while I am in dialysis and while I rest. Scotty is still working full time and is such a huge help while he’s home!

Again, thank you. I am so overwhelmingly grateful❤️

Allie- the woMAN, the myth, the legend.
I mean, she really is. Who else kicks this much medical ass?!

Those of you who don’t know, Allie was born with Cystic Fibrosis and in 2018 received a double lung transplant, thanks to a donor. Allie has continued to struggle with her health post transplant. Her medications caused kidney damage and once Allie caught Covid, she went into full kidney failure. Allie is currently on hemodialysis and being evaluated for a kidney transplant.
