WONDERLAND WATERPARK CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED WITH $400,000 MATCHING GIFT AND 70% NAP TAX CREDITS
ROCKY MOUNT, Mo. — Wonderland Camp is launching a major fundraising campaign to build a new, fully accessible aquatic facility designed to better serve children and adults with disabilities for generations to come.
The Wonderland Waterpark project will replace and significantly improve the camp’s aging pool facility, which has served campers for decades. The current pool requires extensive repairs, and rather than continue investing in an aging facility, Wonderland Camp is taking the opportunity to invest in a long-term solution for the future.
Advancements in aquatic accessibility and inclusive design now make it possible to create a safer, more engaging experience for campers of all abilities. The new facility will be designed to remove barriers and provide opportunities for campers to build confidence, independence and lasting memories in the water.
“This is the right time to make this investment,” said Jill Wilke, Executive Director of Wonderland Camp. “We know repairs are needed on our current pool, and we have an opportunity to put those dollars toward something that will serve our campers for generations. We don't simply want to fix what we have—we want to build something better.”
A $400,000 MATCHING OPPORTUNITY
The campaign has received a significant boost with a $400,000 dollar-for-dollar matching pledge from Willis and Peggy Hansen toward the campaign’s $800,000 project goal.
Every dollar donated to the Wonderland Waterpark project will be matched, up to $400,000, making this an especially powerful time to give.
“This project is an investment in the future of Wonderland Camp,” said Wilke. “We are incredibly grateful to Willis and Peggy Hansen for helping inspire our community to step forward. Their generosity gives every donor an opportunity to make twice the impact.”
70% NAP TAX CREDITS AVAILABLE
Eligible Missouri donors have another opportunity to maximize their support through the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits.
Individuals and businesses with qualifying Missouri business income may be eligible to receive a 70% Missouri state tax credit for qualifying donations to the project.
For example, a qualifying $1,000 donation could result in a $700 Missouri tax credit, making the net cost of the gift $300, subject to the donor’s individual tax circumstances.
NAP tax credits are limited and available to eligible donors while credits remain.
“Between the Hansen matching gift and the availability of NAP tax credits, there has never been a more compelling opportunity to help us build the future of our aquatic programs,” said Wilke.
