Nissu the Superdoodle Hello and welcome to my page! I'm a service dog and official superhero with paws. Follow my adventures and learn ways that you can help service dog teams! Hi!

My name is Nissu! (pronounced Miss you with an "N"). I'm an 18 month old Goldendoodle Service dog. I help my girl do things that she can't always do because of her chronic illnesses. I help her with her Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia and chronic migraines. I can help her pick things up off the ground, retrieve medications, and respond to medical crisis just to name a few of my many jobs. Follow my journey as I become a superhero with paws to my girl!

We’re soo ready for our flight to Minnesota to see our favorite Minnesotans (aka ) and my favorite little people! That’s right! After 5 months of being off of work and staying home I’m finally back to work and I’m soooo ready to go. It’s all come back and I didn’t miss a beat ! Today’s been a great day. I alerted to a migraine in the airport. The TSA and the flight attendants praised my proper behavior as a service dog, and then the flight attendants were amazed how I disappeared under the seat mid-conversation as my girl was putting our bag up overhead! I’ve missed working and hearing my praises sung! That might make me vain but it’s so nice to be out and working by my girl’s side again. We’re taking extra precautions traveling, with plenty of sanitizers, masks, and working outfits for me to keep the germies away. @ Delta Terminal - Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport

It’s no secret that I like taking care of things. It’s my super special job as a service dog 🐕‍🦺. Today my girl was doing alright with her dysautonomia and enjoying the shade, so I went to one of my favorite off duty summertime activities. Monitoring the frogs in our little pond🐸! Sometimes I just stand and watch them, other times I think they’ve had too much sun so I boop them with my nose and make them take a dip in the water to cool off. They’ve gotten quite comfortable with me. Can you see the four frogs (the orange one doesn’t move much) that I was playing lifeguard to today? My favorite one “Kermit” is the last photo.

May is mental health awareness month. While every day is mental health awareness day for us, this month is important to bring attention to things that aren’t seen or talked about enough. Especially during this pandemic where everyone’s lives feel all topsy-turvey! Our primary care providers office reached out this week to do a mental health screen and check in on how my girl has been doing with the changes that have come in the last few months. It felt amazing to get that interaction from our care team and made us feel loved. To have a care team reach out first, especially when we didn’t realize how things have changed from her baseline blew my girl away. These times are tough for many, don’t forget to check in on your friends. That includes your strong friends, your quiet friends, the friends with a smile on their face, all your friends. Check in and let them know you care. Mental health is important and not talked about enough. Let’s open the door to keep the conversations going.

Quarantine hair, don’t care! My girl usually keeps up with my grooming including haircuts. The past two clippings I’ve gone and had a spa day at a groomer because her shoulder was still recovering from surgery. Welp, she caved and now my body is naked🤭 all but my head, legs and tail. Those parts are still floofy and I’m feeling confident with it. My girl hasn’t quite gotten as gutsy with her hair, but the short hair is in a stage of growing out. Shes decided to embrace rocking the awkward stage of three months without a haircut. (Talk about floof! And shaggy) Originally she had her hair short due to not being able to touch her head, neck and face without pain from her thoracic outlet syndrome. It’s been a year since her first TOS surgery and she has full range of motion, can touch her face and head without pain or passing out. So now we’re posed with the question and are considering rocking longer hair. More so out of lack of hair salons at the moment. When’s a better time to grow your hair in the awkward stage than when you’re in an awkward, uncertain uncomfortable stage like quarantine?! Let me know what you think? Have you cut a pet’s, aloved one’s,or your own hair this quarantine?

On day #30461 of quarantine, my girl has decided to draw her favorite subject: Me! I like smiling. Smiling’s my favorite. Even with an ear infection.

This is my girls favorite view to wake up to.
I’m convinced of it. 🤔So I must make sure that it happens each day. Just look at this snoot. It’s the perfect way to wake up, don’t you think?!

Lately I’ve had a bad ear infection so I’ve been sleeping in my crate instead of snuggling up each night. My girls migraines, her hypersensitive smell, and infected ears don’t mix. 🤢So for now she’s forcing social distancing on me which is hard for both of us. I just want to make her feel better, but my ear odor makes her feel worse. Too bad my vet said we had to just take my meds and let the ears run their course until my next check up (tomorrow).

It’s a good thing we aren’t working in public at this time or else I’d have to stay home due to my effervescent ears. At least My girl is home and within my watchful eyesight during quarantine. It may be a while until I get morning snuggles but I can’t wait until I can.

The Easter bunny came to our house! Since my girl has issues with bending to pick things up due to her POTS, I got to do the egg hunt this year. guess what? The eggs turned out to be for me! That easter bunny sure knows my favorite treats.

My girl has been having more migraines this month than usual. That means less screen time/blue light for us, and it’s allowed her to get her creative thinking cap on. I feel like I made pretty good inspiration for this painting. Waiting to add final details and shadows to the letters, but the like-niss(u) is uncanny. Don’t you think?

It’s self care Sunday with your favorite superdoodle! 🐕‍🦺 We’re firm believers that everyday should include self care, 🛁whether it’s a task that you will appreciate later on or a treat to pamper yourself. Spoil yourself and integrate self care into your daily routine. We’ve been trying it, making the bed daily and being sure to not let those dishes pile up are a few things my girl can do to practice self care and they only take a few minutes they help with her mental state! Today I got a facial because my girl said my beard stank...we were trying a new food to help with my itchy skin, and instead it just gave me fishy breath and made my beard smell fishy. Any suggestions on how to keep your teefers, beard and breath smelling fresh? Asking for a friend ...🥺🙄

Raise your voice! Today my girl and I went and voted in the Michigan primaries. helped motivate and remind us that we can have a voice and a seat at the table. Use your voice to help make an impact. This was my first time at the polls and while my girl was the one that voted we were excited to take this adventure together...and I stole her sticker. It looks better on me don’t you think?

It feels like spring has sprung! Building my confidence in new or different places is always important. We try to make outings fun and give me an excuse to play games when I’m off duty from working. We met up with friends to help them work with their foster dog and it was such a fun experience. New friends!!! I felt like I was on top of the world so when my girl asked if I was confident enough to jump up, I changed my perspective. Life’s better with a view.
