I have been involved in purebred dogs since 1972 starting out in Irish Setters. I came back to my true passion the Dachshund in 2000 when I bought Riverwind Hi Plains Drifter from Su Thelen. Since then I have put several titles on all of my dogs including 4 Dual Champions and 3 of them have DCA Versatality Certificates. th. I am past President of the Greater Portland Dachshund Club and current President of Emerald Dog Obedience Club here in Eugene, OR. Both Brett and myself are members of the Dachshund Club of America. I was a Lane County Dog 4-H Super and leader for 4 years. I am one of the trainers for Oregon Urban Dogs Seminars out of Portland, OR and train dogs at the Willamalane Recreation Center. I am qualified to give Canine Good Citizen test. My son Brett has also been very involved with the dogs. He has trained and shown in both AKC, CKC and 4-H. Earning one of the highest honors in 4-H at State level. He has been written up on the AKC website because of the work he has done with his dog Todd in the Therapy field at Nursing homes. We take pride in our dogs that have shown they have beauty and brains. Serenity's EAST
Patrice purchased Jake in 2009 and set on to her career in the dog breeding world. Wendy took Patrice under her wing and mentored her in the world of standard long haired dachshunds. Patrice and Wendy's friendship grew and soon Wendy included Patrice in her breeding program and Serenity's EAST was born. Patrice has been a dachshund parent since 2003 but never competed in the show world. Since the birth of Serenity's EAST Patrice has gained Jake's Bench Championship, competed and placed in field trails, and has given rally and agility a start. Patrice has currently found her foundation bitch, Stardust N Windrose Enchanted Duchess of Serenity "Fergie" and will be breeding them in 2 years after Fergie completes her bench championship.
