I used to think more was better. These days, I know better. At 62, recovery is part of the plan, not a sign of weakness. Three challenging lifting sessions a week are enough for me to build strength, maintain muscle, and enjoy life outside the gym. Aging well isn’t about doing the most—it’s about doing what you can sustain for decades.

Society acts like aging is a reason to stop trying.

I see it as a reason to keep going.

I don’t train to stay young.

I train so I can enjoy every decade I’m fortunate enough to reach.

At 62, I’m not trying to be 25 again.

I’m showing that getting older can still look strong, capable, confident, and full of life.✌🏻

I’m not trying to be my younger self. I’m showing what’s possible now. And I hope more women feel excited—not afraid—about growing older. ✨

At 62, I’m not trying to “look younger.”

I’m showing up fully as I am—stronger, wiser, more grounded, and more comfortable in my own skin than ever before.

Somewhere along the way women were told life fades after 50.

I don’t believe that.

This season can feel vibrant.
Powerful.
Confident.
Free.

Getting older isn’t something to fear.
It can be something to look forward to. 🤍

62 yesterday.🎉
And no… I don’t feel ‘old.’

I feel more aware of recovery. More appreciative of movement. More protective of my peace. More grateful for health.

My workouts look different now. My body requires more care than punishment. But I still love feeling strong, capable, and alive in this body.

Aging isn’t about becoming less.
It’s about becoming more honest about what matters.

Here’s to 62 🤍

The hardest comparison after 60…Your younger self.

One of the biggest mindset shifts after 60 is accepting that your body may not move, recover, or perform like it once did.

That doesn’t mean you stop showing up for yourself.

I’ve had to modify workouts because of neck issues. I no longer run because my body simply doesn’t like how it feels anymore. My stamina is different. Recovery takes longer. And yes — sometimes there’s emotion tied to that.

We don’t talk enough about the mental side of aging physically.

But I’ve learned something important:
You can deeply miss parts of your younger self AND still love the person you are becoming.

Aging strong isn’t about denial.
It’s about adaptation, self-respect, and continuing to move in ways that support your current body.

Different doesn’t mean less powerful.

Aging isn’t something that just happens to you.

It reflects what you continue to do—or stop doing.

In your 60s, it’s not about doing more.
It’s about doing what actually works.

Consistent strength training.
Intentional movement.
Taking care of your body instead of fighting it.

You don’t need extreme workouts or constant intensity.
You need a plan you can stick to.

Because strength doesn’t disappear with age—

it fades when it’s no longer a priority.

Take control of the process…
and this stage of life can feel stronger than you expected.

Aging Strong…but lifting LESS each decade.💪🏻

I used to think doing more was the key to staying strong.

In my 40s, I could train hard every day and bounce right back.

In my 50s, I was still consistent—but recovery started whispering, “slow down.”

In my 60s, I’ve learned to listen.
I still lift. I still challenge myself.
But now I respect recovery just as much as the workout.

Because here’s the truth—
strength isn’t built by doing more…
it’s built by doing what your body actually needs.
And that changes with time.

If you’re feeling like you “can’t do what you used to,”
good. You’re not supposed to.
You’re evolving. Train like it.

In my 60s, I’ve learned this…

Fitness still works—but it works differently.

I lift, I move, I stay consistent. But I also respect what’s changed.

• I train fewer days, with more intention
• Recovery takes longer—and soreness hits different
• Sleep is non-negotiable
• I do weekly “self PT” just to stay feeling good
• HRT has helped—but it’s a constant balancing act
• And some things, like skin changes and libido, don’t fully return (at least for me)

This isn’t about doing less.
It’s about being smarter, more aware, and more in tune with your body.

And if you’re feeling that shift too…
you’re not alone.

We adapt. We adjust. We keep going.

I’m still strong.
Just in a different way now.
And maybe… a more powerful one.

This didn’t happen overnight.
And it didn’t start with perfect conditions.

It started with a decision.
At 60+, I’m not chasing a younger version of myself…
I’m building a stronger one.

Strength doesn’t have an expiration date. Progress doesn’t care how old you are. And excuses? They’ll keep you exactly where you are.

So if you’ve been waiting…
This is your moment.

Now IS the time. 💪🔥
