HAGERMAN BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OPENS 2 WEEKS!

Don’t forget Enrollment will be available on a **first-come, first-served basis** limited to 15 members. Once the available spaces within an age group are filled, children in that group will be placed on a waiting list. Because members are separated into age groups, availability and waiting lists will be managed by age group—not solely by the Club’s overall enrollment.

Parents and guardians will need to:

1. Download the enrollment paperwork from the Hagerman Club webpage.
2. Complete all required documents.
3. Email the completed documents to [email protected]

Once receive the paperwork, will contact the parent or guardian to confirm receipt and discuss the next steps.

Please respond promptly if the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) contacts you. Missed calls or delayed responses can delay your state childcare contract. If the contract is delayed or state payment cannot be processed, the parent or guardian may be responsible for the resulting balance.

Do you help care for a family member, friend, or someone in your community? You may be able to become their paid caregiver.

Join the Chaves County Health Council for our October Health Council Meeting: **How to Become a Caregiver.**

We’ll bring together local caregiver agencies and the New Mexico Aging & Long-Term Services Department to explain how the process works, including:

• Steps to becoming a caregiver
• How to connect with caregiver agencies
• Medicaid programs and requirements
• Options for family members who are already providing care
• How healthcare and service providers can recognize and refer potential caregivers

This meeting is open to the public. Whether you are interested in becoming a caregiver, already helping someone you care about, or work with individuals and families who could benefit from this information, we encourage you to attend.

Homelessness doesn't always start on the street.

For many people, it starts with a financial crisis they simply can't absorb — a car repair, reduced work hours, illness, a utility bill or rent they can't cover.

The numbers in Chaves County tell us that many of our neighbors are already financially vulnerable.

So when we talk about homelessness in Roswell, we also need to talk about what happens before someone loses their housing.

By the time someone is sleeping in a car or on the street, we're often seeing the end of a much longer story.

If we want to reduce homelessness, we have to start earlier.

💜 COME STAND WITH US TONIGHT. SHOW THESE FAMILIES THEY ARE NOT ALONE.

Join us this evening as we remember the lives lost to overdose and accidental poisoning, support the families who carry that grief, and come together as a community to help prevent future loss.

📅 Tonight — August 31
🕕 6:00–8:00 PM
📍 Chaves County Courthouse

The evening will include:

💜 Remembrance display honoring lives lost
🎵 Music
📖 Chaves County proclamation
🗣️ Personal stories from local families
💜 Overdose prevention and community resources
✨ Glow Stick Vigil at 7:30 PM

Come learn. Come support a family. Come remember someone you love.

You do not have to have personally experienced a loss to stand with those who have.

Every life mattered. Every story deserves to be remembered.

REMEMBER. PREVENT. SUSTAIN.

Please share this post and help us turn the courthouse lawn purple tonight.
