“Kara has been there by our side the entire time.”

One of the greatest privileges of my work is walking alongside families through the highs, lows, questions, worries, and wins that come with feeding a baby.

Breastfeeding and infant feeding journeys aren’t always straightforward. Having support that evolves as your needs change can make all the difference.

Thank you to this family for trusting me to be part of their journey. 💙

“Kara has been absolutely incredible throughout my breastfeeding journey!! I haven’t had the easiest journey with my little one, and Kara has been there by our side the entire time with the best tips and truly being one of the kindest humans! I truly cannot recommend her enough!”

🤍Motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

One of the most important things you can do during pregnancy is begin building your support system of people who encourage you, answer questions, share experiences, and remind you that you’re not alone. That support becomes even more valuable once baby arrives.

So grateful for this wonderful group of moms and little ones at this morning’s Mommy Meetup. There’s something powerful about being in a room with people who truly understand the journey.

Most parents spend months preparing for labor, delivery, and the nursery.
Very few spend time preparing for feeding.
After supporting hundreds of families as an IBCLC, I’ve found that confidence doesn’t come from having all the answers—it comes from knowing what to expect and knowing where to turn when questions arise.
A few things I wish every expecting parent knew:
🤍 Breastfeeding is natural, but it isn’t always intuitive.
🤍 Your body is already preparing for your baby.
🤍 Newborn feeding is frequent and often feels constant.
🤍 There is more than one way to successfully feed your baby.
🤍 You don’t have to do this alone.
One of the best gifts you can give yourself before baby arrives is a support system.
That’s exactly why I created Due Date Feeding Groups: a place for expecting families to learn, ask questions, connect, and begin building their village before baby arrives.
Due this summer or fall? Send me your due date, I would love to connect. 💙

🤗🤰Grateful for the opportunity to speak on the opening panel at .and.bumps Atlanta this weekend!

I used the opportunity to focus on one of my favorite topics: the importance of prenatal feeding planning. While we spend months preparing for labor and delivery, many families don’t realize how valuable it can be to prepare for feeding before baby arrives.

Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation and asked such thoughtful questions. Supporting families with education, confidence, and practical tools is always an honor.

I was thrilled to share the stage with , , and .nurse.mama, all powerful voices for maternal healthcare!

In response to this need, I offer prenatal small-group sessions for families due around the same time. These groups are designed to blend realistic preparation, expert guidance, and genuine connection with other parents entering the exact same season of life.

Sessions are held virtually after traditional working hours for flexibility, partners are encouraged to attend, and conversations focus on what families often wish they had known before the baby arrived:
newborn feeding,
milk production,
pumping,
bottles,
postpartum realities,
support systems,
and how to know where to turn when things feel hard.

Families also remain connected through group communication with their cohort, with direct access to me by text during the early hospital days and priority scheduling support after discharge home, helping care and support continue beyond the sessions themselves.

My goal is helping families enter postpartum with more confidence, more context, and a village already beginning to take shape.

The series is led by myself as an RN and IBCLC with more than 10 years of lactation experience. Prenatal lactation care is also commonly covered as an insurance benefit, and guidance is available for verifying coverage and benefits.

More information about prenatal consultations and upcoming groups can be found on my website, or feel free to message me with any questions.

Join your virtual Due Date Feeding Group through North Fulton Lactation.

These small-group prenatal feeding cohorts are designed for families approximately 34–36 weeks pregnant and focus on helping parents feel more informed, supported, and confident entering the early postpartum weeks.

Many feeding challenges families experience after delivery are not caused by a lack of effort — they often stem from limited preparation, delayed support, unrealistic expectations, or simply not knowing what is normal in the beginning.

These groups are designed to change that.

Each cohort includes:
• two live virtual prenatal feeding sessions
• practical, evidence-based feeding education
• partner/support person participation
• postpartum continuity and support
• hospital transition text access
• priority postpartum follow-up scheduling when available
• optional ongoing connection with other families entering the same season of parenthood

The goal is not simply education before birth, but continuity of support through the transition into postpartum feeding and recovery.

Virtual groups will be held Tuesdays from 7:00–8:15 PM and families are encouraged to participate around 34–36 weeks pregnant.

Many insurance plans include coverage for prenatal and postpartum lactation support. North Fulton Lactation partners to assist with insurance verification and review available benefits prior to participation.

Enrollment information and additional details are available through the Prenatal Support page linked in bio.
