Do the twist! Keeping your head and shoulders facing your computer, twist your hips and legs to the right or left. To get a bit of a stretch along the outer thigh as well, cross the leg closest to your computer over the top. @ East Sacramento Physical Therapy

Adductors! Scoot to the edge of your chair to allow your hips to move more freely. With ankles under knees, spread knees apart and tilt the pelvis forward. The tilt in the pelvis is key! Use your hands to gently keep your knees from rolling inward. Try it with a theraband tied just below the knees, and from the same postition actively pull the knees back.

Get a little hip extension during that meeting! Swivel your chair sideways and sit with one hip supported by the chair and the opposite leg extended behind you. The key to this stretch is to sit up straight and tuck your tailbone. You should feel this along the front of your extended hip. Try a variation by bending the knee that's off the chair, but remember to tuck the tailbone.

Show the hammies some love! Hamstrings are in a shortened position when we sit with knees bent. Straighten the leg on a stool under your desk. This might be enough to feel a stretch! If you need a little more, tilt the pelvis forward like you are lifting your tailbone out behind you. For even more, lean forward slightly, but make sure you are hinging from the hips rather than rounding the back. Try some variations as well!
