Sometimes forgiveness isn’t about forgetting. It’s deciding that yesterday no longer gets to name you.
Once is not forever. The prison had no walls, and I’m walking out today.

Throwback Thursday ✨

With Halloween and the holidays just around the corner, I’m looking back at these moments and wondering how the children are already 14 and 16. They’ve grown up so fast before my eyes.

This video holds so much of what I’m grateful for. Singing for children at Shriners Children’s Hospital who couldn’t go home for Christmas. Bear, who was training to be a service dog there before COVID. Rest in peace, buddy. 🐾 And that last photo takes me right back to Bali. I’m so grateful I went, and for the memories I brought home.

There’s a moment here from the first time I stepped on stage. I didn’t know what I’d be asked to speak about, and I was afraid. I went up anyway and shared my story. Afterward, people told me it had moved them to call their dads. I had no idea that taking one uncomfortable step could mean so much to someone else.

Looking back, I can see what a charmed life I’ve lived. I’d love to share more of the private practices that helped me get here, because you matter to me, and perhaps something in my story will help you too.

Gratitude has changed the way I see my life. I can be grateful for the beautiful moments and, with time and healing, find meaning in painful ones too. What memory are you grateful for today? ❤️

R is for Return. 💎

When an unexpected outcome triggers you, return to yourself before reaching out to the other person.

Before you text.
Before you explain.
Before you try to figure out what it all means.

Return to your breath.
Return to your body.
Return to what you know is true for you.

You don’t have to solve the relationship while you’re activated.

Sometimes the most powerful next step is simply to come back to yourself first.

Comment RETURN and I’ll send you the full Release & Return PDF.

I used to think loving deeply meant giving more, trying harder, staying available, and sometimes losing pieces of myself inside the relationship.

Now I see love differently.

I can be open.
I can be soft.
I can be wildly attracted to someone.
I can want the relationship.

And I can still stay anchored in my own life.

If I notice the urge to chase, overgive, fix, or make someone else the center of my world, I don’t have to judge myself for it.

I can simply notice it.

Feel what’s happening in my body.

And gently come back to myself.

Because staying connected to yourself doesn’t make you less available for love.

It gives healthy love somewhere solid to meet you.

Save this for the moment you need the reminder. 💎

Sometimes a photograph holds more than a memory. It holds an entire lifetime of love.

This Throwback Thursday feels especially meaningful because my aunt is in hospice, and our family recently had the chance to gather together.

One of the photos in this video is of my mom and my cousin. My cousin was there for me when my mom was transitioning, and now I get to be there for her as her mom moves through this season.

And the uncle you see me hugging is the man who gave us ten more years with my mom by giving her one of his kidneys.

Now that is a gift of love that keeps on giving.

Fast forward all these years, and I’m reminded that sometimes we are the ones being held, and sometimes we are the ones doing the holding.

As I look at these pictures — all the hugs, all the people I love — I’m reminded that this is a family of love.

So as we move into this holiday season, maybe we can soften a little more, judge a little less, hug a little longer, and show up for one another with loving awareness and kindness.

Because we never really know how much time we have.

Let’s love each other now.

This is the moment where we get to live, love, thrive, and give. 💛

Healing doesn’t always mean the scar disappears.

Sometimes it means you can remember what happened without reopening the wound.

Want to know if the scar is still tender? Notice how you tell the story.

If telling it pulls you right back into the pain, there may still be something asking to be healed. But when you can remember with grace, without being pulled back into the wound, the scar becomes part of your story—not the place you still live.

The scar may still be there.
It just doesn’t have to keep hurting.

Healing doesn’t always erase the scar. It changes the way you carry it. 💎

Throwback Thursday. ❤️

Sometimes one unexpected “yes” changes everything.

My daughter’s first audition—a water ski lesson traded for a chance—led to an audition tape, an agent, Donnie Darko, and ultimately to so many beautiful opportunities in her life and the family she has today.

When she was asked how she got started, she said:

“My parents gave me options, not orders.”

That trust matters.

Two years ago, I survived a crash and didn’t know if I would walk again.

Today, I’m walking, pain-free, scar-free, and so incredibly grateful.

Life can change in an instant. And sometimes the choices, opportunities, and encouragement we give our children ripple forward in ways we could never have imagined.

If I can begin again at 67, maybe this is your reminder that you can too. ❤️

With love and kindness,

A woman doesn’t need a man to be perfect. ❤️

What she notices is how he shows up when things get uncomfortable.

Can he stay present instead of shutting down?
Can he communicate clearly instead of becoming defensive?
Can he stay grounded when emotions rise?

That kind of emotional strength creates something incredibly powerful in a relationship: safety.

And when a woman feels emotionally safe, she can soften, open, trust, and connect more deeply.

Perfection isn’t what creates connection.
Presence does. ❤️

Throwback Thursday ❤️

With the holidays and the busy season approaching us already—kids back to school, Halloween around the corner, which means Thanksgiving and Christmas are next—I found myself remembering what a joy it was to have this experience serving these beautiful children.

And I got to do it alongside my cousins, who are the choir you see here in the matching Christmas pajamas. Matching pajamas are a tradition our family has every year on Thanksgiving.

Looking back at this reminds me that, through all the different seasons of my life, something has remained the same:

It has always been about the love and connection we bring to one another—and the ways we choose to give to one another.

Some things change. Some things are simply who you are. 💎
