It has become clear to me that most doulas, including myself are not well equipt for mental health depths that are way beyond our scope. The steps of how to support mamas and babies through and even transition care to emergency services. I am deeply humbled in this experience and am seeking outside-of-the-lines support to best support clients during a world-shaking event that brings up deep traumas and can be too much to contain. I will sit with you in the fire because birth is not all rainbows and sunshine. This is my invitation for everyone to have emergency Postpartum Support International and more resources available for extreme circumstances.
